I recently dined at Olivia Family Restaurant and Bar, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy good food, and spend quality time with family or friends.
Food Quality The food is definitely the highlight here. We tried a variety of dishes from Indian, Tandoori, and Chinese sections, and most of them were delicious.
Recommended dishes:
Tandoori chicken – juicy and well-spiced
Paneer tikka – soft and flavorful
Butter chicken – rich and creamy, paired well with garlic naan
Crispy veg and chicken starters – a perfect bar snack
The portions were generous, and the taste was consistent. Just one or two items could’ve been a bit hotter when served, but nothing that ruined the experience.
Bar & Drinks The bar is well-stocked and offers a good selection of spirits, beers, and cocktails. Drinks were served quickly and mixed well. It's a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a drink without loud music or unnecessary crowding.
Ambience & Setup The ambience is relaxed and welcoming. It’s a family-friendly space despite being a bar-restaurant combo. The lighting and music are subtle, making it ideal for conversations. The indoor and outdoor seating both have a cozy vibe.
Service Service was generally good — the staff is polite and helpful. They took our order quickly and were happy to recommend items. A couple of follow-ups were needed for water and napkins, which slightly affected the flow, but nothing major.
Cleanliness & Facilities The restaurant and restrooms were clean
Tables were cleared on time
Decent parking space available, though it gets tight during weekends
Pricing Prices are fair for the quality and quantity served. It’s a good value-for-money option, especially for group dining or casual outings.
Olivia Family Restaurant and Bar is a solid choice for good food, a relaxed environment, and decent drinks. A few minor service improvements would make it a 5-star experience, but it’s definitely worth visiting again.

Read moreThis one of the cheapest bars in Karve road area. I haven't seen a lot of women go here. I don't know why because it is a pretty nice place. Yes, it's not fancy and pretentious like Effingut or German bakery, but it does have a chill vibe to it. Also, you can smoke here as there is plenty of room to sit and drink for smokers.
I have been here twice and the service has been excellent (way better than other bars in Kothrud and Deccan with snobbish and rude waiters.)
-The best thing is they have a quarter system, as in you can buy a bottle of your favorite alchohol without having to pay extra per 30/60ml peg.
-They give 3 varieties of free snacks (chakhna) and refill the bowls as and when required.
-The servers are very courteous and well-mannered.
-The food is also really nice. Not too many starter options for vegetarians though. I ate a cheese garlic naan which was very yummy. Even the food is reasonably priced here.
In short, it's a modest little bar with great service and budget-friendly...
Read moreOne of the sophisticated places in Kothrud for a quick fix. Located right beneath the Sadanand hotel, Olivia has a nice rustic interior which represents the 'classic family bar look' . On one side is a simple passageway for groups and 'solitary' drinkers alike to enjoy the cool evening breeze of Karve road as the cars rush by, possibly of Kothrudkars heading home from work. This is a typical joint but houses a wonderful culinary experience too. Go for the regular punjabi food, tandoors, tikkas, naans and rotis. Try the mutton varieties, Maharashtrian and otherwise. Even the biryani is not bad, nice and steaming with juicy pieces of chicken or mutton. I once ordered the 'Chicken Bullet', an insane dish not for the faint hearted. Must try. The service is spectacular, they always take care of the patrons and newcomers with warmth. Olivia is a good retreat in Kothrud as every such bar has a story and if you come here often you make it...
