I have been a regular customer of this cafe until yesterday. Besides leisurely dropping in for a coffee or one of their home-made cakes, I had gotten accustomed to scheduling my meetings at this cafe which ran for anywhere from 15 mins to 2 hours - 30 mins being the norm. My bill amount for each visit varied from Rs. 140 to Rs. 1000. I made sure that I did not hog their seating and actually helped this establishment make money. Cumulatively, I must have given at least Rs. 8000 worth of business to this cafe in the last 3 months alone - and in the process helped so many more people discover this place.
Yesterday I happened to schedule a meeting at Cafe One-O-Eight right after lunch time. After we were seated, the caucasian owner of the cafe came by to take the order. I politely informed that I will need 10 to 15 mins to place the order as I had just had my lunch.
The owner clearly did not like that response and insisted that we either order something or be prepared to leave if other guests come. Her point was perfectly valid, especially because the place was indeed busy yesterday.
But even after I explained to her that I will be ordering soon and that I am a regular at the cafe, she clearly did not want us to spend even a minute without ordering. I consider that to be an attitude worse than that of the soup nazi from Seinfeld.
Highly disappointed that I will no longer be going to this cafe any more and I expected them to have a far better attitude towards customers than this.
Just FYI, I had left a 5-star review for this place until this incident happened. Because I value attitude much more...
Read moreOh my god! I have visited this cafe at so many different addresses, but I must say that the current location is mesmerising and quite refreshing with so much greenery around. It made a start to my Saturday wonderful. When I entered the place, I was relaxed as the road to the cafe has ample parking so that was sorted. The weather is quite hot currently but this place comparatively was less hot. The decor of the place is quite minimalistic yet very appealing. The place was quite crowded with groups of people enjoying their breakfast on a Saturday morning. The staff was quite fast in their service. I ordered a Go to hell egg, basically an (Egg Shakshuka) and it came in a pan which was quite hot and looked very mouthwatering yes it was damn tasty with sour bread on the side. I also ordered a Cappuccino and the cup size has reduced though but the taste was quite impressive. The place is a bit on the expensive side in my opinion (3/5) Service: (4/5). Because some of the stewards (servers) lacked knowledge about the dishes. Ambience: (5/5) Menu: (4/5) Overall a great place to enjoy your breakfast, or a brunch or some light lunch or a snack in the evening and now they even have Pizzas on their menu so it's an added advantage if you wanna visit the place for Pizza dinner. One O Eight Lifestyle Cafe lives up to its "lifestyle" name. The ambience is absolutely superb. It's serene and beautiful, creating a truly calming atmosphere. This is definitely a place to come for a relaxing breakfast or brunch and soak in the positive vibes.
Speaking of breakfast, that's where One O Eight shines. They have a wide variety of options, but I have to rave about the strawberry pancakes. The presentation was fantastic - the kind that makes you take a picture before digging in. But more importantly, they were delicious. Perfectly fluffy pancakes with fresh, juicy strawberries and a delightful sauce.
Now, there were a couple of minor things that kept me from giving One O Eight a full 5 stars. While the service was friendly, it wasn't the most attentive. Also, some of the menu items seemed a bit on the pricey side.
Overall, though, One O Eight is a great choice, especially for breakfast. The ambience is top-notch, the food is delicious, and the strawberry pancakes are a must-try. With a little more polish on the service, this cafe could easily be a...
