Pune restaurants have restarted dine-in services since last week, and are open till 10 pm. With both vaccine doses done, I ventured out for a relaxed brunch at Vida Heydari Contemporary. VHC combines an art gallery with a chic restaurant. It features a European menu curated by chef Ajay Chopra with founder and artist Vida Heydari.
VHC, Koregaon Park, Pune – Decor VHC is situated in a lush, quiet corner of Koregaon Park. The alfresco restaurant space has been designed artistically. The contemporary monochromatic theme exudes charm. The burst of greenery from the natural canopy and the manicured wall garden creates a beautiful contrast to the black, white, and grey interiors. The adjoining art gallery is designed with similar elements and perfectly complements the restaurant. The space is mostly open-air and the seating is very comfortable. It is suitable for a variety of activities ranging from an afternoon lounging with friends over food and art, to an evening with colleagues over drinks.

When I discovered this place in Pune, I was over the moon. It reminded me very much of my favourite place to visit back home: Museum of Contemporary of Art Australia. Given what the world has become in the last few months, life is better when there’s good food and great art. I am glad we get to experience it at VHC.
I was surprised by the quality of the food when I first tried it a few months back with some friends. This second visit of late certainly didn’t disappoint but if I were to give genuine feedback, I would say consider curating a simple and healthy kids menu as there isn’t one available. That would definitely bring us back regularly! Nonetheless, thanks to the staff at VHC as they were wonderful and very attentive towards our kids needs.
Apart from the food, the highlight for us is the diversity of artworks exhibited at VHC. Our kids love to stroll through the gallery and converse with the staff about the different art on the display there.
We look forward to...

Visited VHC for the closing of the art exhibition " Internalizing a City" (11 Sep 2022. Curated by Veeranganakumari Solanki, the exhibition displayed innovative thoughts illustrating the interactions of neighbouring people and buildings through the metaphor of windows. The grating life.
