Shangri La Restaurant, Karve Rd — Restaurant in Pune

We visited on busy Sunday eve, we got the place in garden, atmosphere was nice. The service was too slow, we ordered sizzler initially and we received same after 40-45 min, then we ordered Veg Fried Rice with Veg Manchurian, it came after around 35 min. The waiter also agreed that they are under-staff and they struggle on weekends or in peak hours. So we agreed and accepted that. But later, when we received our order, we found a big insect (probably medium sized cockroach like insect) in our rice, and we straight away got up and left by paying whatever we consumed earlier.

So guys i suggest that the place is good and calm, but it's old and kitchen doesn't seem to be maintained inside , also they have made a make shift bar outside their toilets as well.

It seems inside its not all clean and hygienic, and we have decided we will never...

A neighborhood restaurant with regular customers.

The place is cozy and silent and away from main road chaos. A very good place for post office catch up or even otherwise.

The food is good and the beer is reasonable. So are the finger foods. The qty and taste is more than good.

Also they have a bird cage in outdoor seating which can keep the kids occupied (though I am strictly against living beings in captivity). Also the staff is very attentive on weekdays.

The problem comes when you visit on weekends. They are somehow not able to cater to the weekend rush and the food quality reduces drastically on weekends. Best avoid in case you have an alternative for weekend catch up. Or best stick to parcel. That's the reason for missing the 2 stars.

Rest it's a good place for weekdays. A bill for 2 average eaters with booz will not...

Only 2 stars deserved for AC hall seating in scorching heat otherwise food quality isnot much appreciable .We ordered paneer tikka and chicken reshmi kabab as starter.previous one was good,second one lacking something.In main course,chicken patiala and dal khichdi.one was ok ok other was awesome.After finishing asked for desserts,waiter said there is nobody to make desserts.Hike to this,we asked to parcel the leftover food,he charged extra 15 rupees / container.This shdnt acceptable.On top of cherry,waiter didn't give parcel bag after requesting for 4 times,he said,it isnt in my hand.summary,food was ok ok but service and regulations...
