Popularly known as AJUBA or Anand Juice Bar, this place is located a short distance short of Nal Stop on Karve Road on the left side. At the entry there is limited two wheeler parking and almost NIL four wheeler parking in and around.
A favorite place for people in offices nearby going by the crowds at all times, I visited this place on Sat 1st Aug'15 for lunch. There were hardly any places open for a late lunch and hence the choice.
The seating is divided into two section - outdoor one which was covered for the monsoon season and an indoor section with a litte better decor, chairs and table than the one in the open section.
The menu card covers everything - from south indian to punjabi to chinese and pizza and pav bhaji. However, dont except the continental dishes to be authentic including pizzas.
We settled for soup (Cream of Tomato - decent taste, but not hot at all), Masala Papad (Good), Veg. Hyderabadi ( which could be renamed as Leftover veg because it looked like mixed vegetables but not really the best of the parts of the veggies sadly) and Rotis
The service varies based on what time you go and what you order with Pav Bhaji being available the quickest and everything else a little delayed.
The place is expensive for the quality and ambiance. A portion of Subji would cost you around 140-160 which is equivalent to other places which are better in terms of taste and ambiance.
Repeat Visit - Most likely No for punjabi food. May try...
Read moreI recently visited Anand Veg, eager to try out some of their popular dishes. While my experience had some high points, it was a bit of a mixed bag overall.
We started with the Cheese Masala Pav, which was surprisingly good. The pav was soft, well-buttered, and loaded with a flavorful masala that had the right balance of spice and cheese. The seasoning was on point, making it a great start to the meal.
Next, we ordered the Cheese Pav Bhaji, expecting it to live up to its reputation. Unfortunately, this dish didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The bhaji lacked the rich, buttery taste and depth of flavor that a great pav bhaji should have. Even with the added cheese, it felt a bit underwhelming, almost as if something was missing in the spice blend or texture.
To wrap up, we decided to try the Green Peas Cheese Pulao. While it wasn’t bad, it didn’t stand out either. The flavors were mild, and while the cheese added a nice touch, it didn’t elevate the dish enough to make it memorable. It was decent but not something I would specifically return for.
Overall, my experience at Anand Veg was average. The Cheese Masala Pav was the highlight, but the other dishes didn’t quite match my expectations. I might return to try other items on the menu, but I’d be selective about what to order next time. If you’re visiting, I’d recommend the Masala Pav for sure, but perhaps skip the Cheese Pav Bhaji if you’re looking for something...
Read moreThe worst hotel ever visited... 👎👎👎 Recently we visited over here and had a very bad experience, We had ordered 4 chapati and most of them were served with hair inside it, we argued with the owner about it and he said " we usually occur incidents of having hair inside the chapati and it is not a big issue
As if he was asking us indirectly to have the chapati... Not only about the hair but also there were cockroaches on the table, the dishes were having unpleasant smell and the surrounding including the campus of the hotel was unhygienic... The owner himself was arguing so rudely as if he didn't wanted customers... The staff was just ignoring us even if we were trying to get there attention. After all of the inconvenience we asked for the bill and the owner shamelessly added the amount of chapatis we were served with hair...
Anyone must visit if wanted to eat new dishes as we had such as Hairy Chapati And wanted to deal with...
