We ordered Hot Chocolate-Orange, Cappuccino, Spring Onion & Bacon Omellete, and Bacon, Rucola Fried Egg Sandwich
First came the Hot Chocolate-Orange - a favorite drink of the kings and nobles - which was ordered in believing in the ancient theory that chocolate which was used as a medicine for anti-depression will cure mine mostly caused by waking up early. TFW did their own riff on the classic Hot Chocolate by sprinkling, quite liberally, finely grated, dried strands of the finest orange. The combination of hot chocolate and aromatic orange strands was such that it felt like being in the middle of a place where the hot chocolate brought back memories of White Christmas winter holiday in Stockholm and the Orange strands reminded me of the many hot summer afternoons spent in revealing the streets of Nagpur.
The chocolate used at TWB was the chocolate of esteem honor, with great lure, elegance, and, well, made with the finest of ingredients. The chocolate tasted like a typical Belgian chocolate - very comforting and forward without too many distractions - having a classic milk flavor, fudge-like earthy taste with almost zero noticeable sourness, fruitiness or lingering floral flavors on the palate. This straightforward taste is the cornerstone of the chocolate which would make any chocolatier proud of his craft. And this is where TWB's Hot Chocolate separates itself from the rest. Although a lil too sweet for me, the cup was filled almost put to the rim, the quantity can comfortably suffice two people in my opinion or for those longish breakfasts-that-turn-into-lunch rendezvous with friends. This is #absolutemusthave item.
Spring Onion & Bacon Omellete: Served with crispy hash brown, grilled tomatoes, choices of bread (2 slices), and a heavyweight omelet stuffed with lots of melted cheese. This was a decent breakfast item. Nothing earth-shattering. Could do well with a dash of spice with tabasco sauce or chili flakes in it. Also the bacon pieces must've been bigger as compared to the small lil chunks that are presently in the omelette. #passable
Bacon, Rucola Fried Egg Sandwich: Super hungry? Have this huge sandwich. It will fill your senses along with your stomach too. I loved TWB's upscale twist on the traditional scrambled egg and bacon breakfast sandwich featuring sweet, tender caramelized onion and peppery arugula. This sandwich is the humble, next-door McMuffin gone beserk with added intense complexity of bacon and dressed, peppery arugula to boost the taste. Again, a #highlyrecommended item.
Overall, TWB's service was quick, attentive, and courteous. The food was good and the surrounding greens are soul-calming in a way. Absolutely loved the way the whole thing is setup. Reminded me of the old days when Vaishali and Prems had this kinda greenery around the tables. We were told by the TWB staff that they would soon open a full-fledged bar and the works! And that there will be Wine Connsierur classes and other activities too.
I am absolutely going again to try a few more items...but this time in my own sweet time. TWB is my...
Read moreThe Flour Works, as a eatery and pattiserie has always awed me; simply because it satisfies cravings, presents a soulful meal, and leaves everyone with positive memories! The fare available is very homely, made with fresh ingredients and reinstates every individual's love for #foodthatmatters. 😇
I have spectacular memories of having brunch at #TheFlourWorks' outlet in Kalyani Nagar. I distinctly remember digging into their Egg Benedict, Bacon Strips and sipping onto their fresh juices and Expresso! A brunch I enjoyed thanks to good company too! 💟
The above experience made me tail towards the outlet in Baner, which is tucked into an alley and seats close to 50-75 people on a special day/weekends. The ambiance is inviting, the color schemes are rich and the seats are a blend of family sofa sets and high rise stools. The bearers were patient with us, (a group of 4) as we took time to select a perfect table. We 'rose' to the occasion and selected a table right next to an open vent where fresh air was blowing. 🤗
The menu could be a tad confusing, so it's suggested to ask the bearers about the best offers and dishes to match your drinks, if any. Having been here before, I took upon the onus of selecting the food, while my other friend looked after the drinks. Here's what we ended up ordering, and conveniently consuming with a lot of glee;
Old Monk Rum and Captain Morgan Mix (with Sugar Syrup) Fratenelli Wine Sangria with Apple Dices Fresh Lime Soda Mint Tea Soda Water with Lime Squeeze
The dishes we ordered were; Spaghetti Aglio Oglio Salmon Fish with Tomato Gravy and Herbed Rice and Veggies Fresh Tabouleh Salad with extra Parsley Salted and Spicy Peri Peri Fries Grilled Chicken with Poached Veggies
All of the above lived up to our expectations. Each dish was prepared with hand picked ingredients, and prepared under controlled temperature and rich spices. This was felt through each morsel eaten by everyone within the group. We also had good conversations about the ambiance, food and service; the last one being swift with acceptable time intervals.
I recommend this place, simply because, it doesn't stick to the regular, and presents dishes that are distinctly different. The Continental, Asian and Arabic dishes are a must try. The chef and his crew do a very decent job at presenting good food, which is a close replica of the originals served across the world. Two big, fat thumbs up to the teams behind the success of Flour Works, Baner. I'm sure their satisfied customers percentage is perennially high, hovering around the mid 90s without doubt.
Cheers and best wishes to everyone associated with The Flour Works at Baner, in the future. #foodfuntogetherness 🥰

Read moreUpdate: We went back for brunch!! FYI- they have valet parking
As usual the food was good. Though I have observed that : Their drink menu though vast doesn't reflect the actual availability. They consistently didn't have beer on tap. When we went, they didn't have a number of cocktails...
Their menu tends to exaggerate/ embellish the ingredients. E.g., their french toast talks about having banana and cinnamon honey but there was absolutely no cinnamon, whatsoever. Their waffles were promised to be served with fruit compote - but alas, all we got was maple syrup + apple slices
But that aside, their food ( which may at times miss the mark a bit) and the amazing ambience never ever disappoints! French toast with bananas and cinnamon honey : loved it! Recommended ( ask for a side of honey if it's too dry)
Waffles with fruit compote- can skip and an example of an embellished menu description. If you see the pic, you will see there's no fruit compote - just syrup with apple pieces! Risotto (veg)- absolutely recommended! One of the few places where I have enjoyed the preparation. Egg Benedict ( one with chicken and the other with chorizo) - again both were good but in the chicken one of the eggs was overcooked and not runny. I found a small egg shell in my Benedict. So that's what I meant by missing the mark. But the taste was good and something I'd recommend.
Loved this place - we took our 3 month old puppy and this place is truly pet friendly. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. There's a separate section where folks who get their pets can sit.
In terms of food, everything was delicious - a few items missed a bit but nothing to raise a flag. Here's what we had and would recommend. Tempura Prawns- an absolute must...the batter was thin & crispy, the accompanying sauce just the right mix of sweet & chilli. Chicken & roast onion quiche- an ok dish.. the filling was tasty but the crust was a bit too doighy... They had put in enough butter to make you scared but it didn't help with the crust. Can miss Pan seared fish with orange sauce- an absolute hit! Loved it, esp the tangy sauce, the fresh veggies and the beautifully cooked piece of fish Gnocchi with sage butter- the gnocchi was mushy and though the butter sauce was ok, the overall dish was a bit bland. I'd miss this. Drinks: they don't have tap beer ☹️ ... Ordered mojito which was a bit sweet and more ice than drink. This is the only negative.
Overall a great place. The service is the highlight along with the (ironically) non-flour based items. I'd definitely go back to try their...
