Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulchian Wale is an iconic food outlet situated in the bustling streets of Amritsar. The shop has been serving its customers for many years and has become synonymous with the city's food culture. The limited menu at the shop features only a few items, but all of them are delicious and worth trying.

The shop's specialty is the Kulcha, a type of Indian bread that comes in different variants such as aalu, paneer, gobhi, and mix kulcha. Along with the kulchas, you can also try the famous Meethi Lassi, a sweetened yogurt drink that is a perfect accompaniment to the spicy kulchas. The pickled onions served with the kulchas are also worth trying.

The prices at the shop are quite cheap, making it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. However, the only downside is that the shop can get crowded, and there is usually a long waiting time. But the fast service compensates for the waiting time.

One thing to note is that there are many fake shops in the area, so it is advisable to be careful and visit the original Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulchian Wale outlet. The shop has an old-world charm, with an iconic picture of the Golden Temple adorning its walls.

Overall, I would highly recommend Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulchian Wale to anyone visiting Amritsar for an authentic breakfast experience. It is a must-visit spot for all...

Nestled in the heart of the city, the Old Restaurant is a hidden gem that has been serving its loyal patrons for several decades. Known for its exclusive focus on kulcha, this quaint eatery has stood the test of time, consistently delivering flavors that transport diners to a bygone era.

The menu, although simple, showcased an impressive range of kulcha varieties that catered to every taste bud. From the classic plain kulcha to stuffed options like potato, paneer, and onion, each dish was crafted with utmost care and attention to detail. The kulchas were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, offering a delightful contrast of textures.

The only aspect that slightly detracted from the experience was the limited seating capacity, which often resulted in longer wait times during peak hours. However, the waiting was well worth it once the kulchas arrived at the table, piping hot and bursting with flavor.

In terms of affordability, the Old Restaurant offered excellent value for money. The prices were reasonable, considering the quality and authenticity of the dishes served. Each bite felt like a journey through time, an opportunity to savor the traditional flavors that have captivated...

I had visited here only last week when I had gone to see Golden Temple for baba ji darshan.

One of the oldest addresses in the city when it comes to Amritsari kulche is Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulchian Wale. When here, make sure you try their famous aloo kulcha. The delicious aloo kulcha is the result of lots of patience, seven layers of flour and a generous stuffing of just about anything: from potatoes to panner to cauliflower. Once this is done, the dough is flattened out and then cooked inside a hot tandoor.

I had breakfast here. In which I had ordered butter Kulcha of Aloo pyaj is famous here but you can also try Gobi, Paneer and many more Kulchas variety. With which he had given green chutney in onion and pickles is also served as a complementary.

If I talk about the taste of Kulchas, then it was wonderful and delicious. But you may have to wait for your turn as the shop is very small. Only 15 people around sitting are available in this shop.

Recommendation from my side at least once must visit this place if you are foody and taste lover.

Aloo pyaj kulcha price is only Rs. 60 per kulcha and Gobi kulcha is only...

My first meal in Amritsar was here starting with Aloo Kulcha (served with Chole and chutney). They have two shops, I had it in the small shop on the corner of the street. Did not know they have another shop too. They have 5 types of Kulchas (Flatbreads filled with vegetable pastes)- 1. Aloo Kulcha - 60 INR 2. Gobi Kulcha - 70 INR 3. Pithi Kulcha - 70 INR 4. Paneer Kulcha - 80 INR 5. Four Mix Kulcha - 80 INR 6. Lassi - 50 INR Chutney is the real game changer otherwise their chole (chickpeas) and lassi ( buttermilk) was okayish. I did not like the hygiene on that shop, people literally washing hands on unwashed glasses of lassi. No gloves for putting butter. Also, they should have told that they have another shop with sitting area as we were standing and waiting for half an hour in harsh sunlight. You can just go and try any one kulcha if you really want to. P.S - Do try Ram Laddu / Kanji Vada being sold by street vendors opposite the small shop near that Red Gate. You will love those refreshing and cold orange kanjis with hot yellow Ram Laddus. Date of Visit - 19/11/2022

⭐⭐⭐ A Trusted Name for a Quick Kulcha Fix 1. Legacy & Pricing: Located near the iconic Golden Temple, Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulchian Waale has been around for years — and it clearly shows in their loyal customer base and steady footfall. It’s one of those places where you get value for money, with kulchas priced very reasonably, especially considering the location. 2. Food Experience: We tried their Aloo Kulcha and Gobi Kulcha, both served with a basic chana sabzi, onion salad, and a generous dollop of butter on top. The flavors are decent and satisfying — nothing overly fancy, but definitely good enough for a quick, fulfilling meal. 3. Extras: If you’re in the mood for a complete Punjabi treat, you can also add a glass of lassi for ₹60. Thick, sweet, and refreshing — it pairs well with the kulchas. Final Thoughts: It’s a place worth visiting once — especially if you’re looking for a budget-friendly meal with local flavors. While it may not be the best kulcha in town, it definitely holds its own with its legacy, affordability, and consistent taste over the years.
