Richie Rich: Comfort Food and Classic Treats - A Regular's Review As a frequent visitor to Richie Rich, I can definitely vouch for its charm as a reliable spot for comforting food and classic treats. While it might not be the most glamorous option, it holds a special place in my heart (and stomach!) for several reasons:
Familiar Favorites:
Pav Bhaji: The paav bhaji hits the spot with its soft pavs soaked in spicy, buttery bhaji. It's a nostalgic treat that delivers on those comfort food cravings. Classic Vada Pav: Their vada pav is the real deal - a crispy, golden vada tucked inside a soft bun with chutneys and spices. Simple yet satisfying! Tawa Pulao: Sometimes, all you need is a plate of comforting pulao. Richie Rich's version does not disappoint, offering fluffy rice with just the right amount of spice and veggies.
Sweet Endings:
Softy: No visit to Richie Rich is complete without their iconic softy. Creamy, flavorful, and perfect for beating the Bangalore heat, it's a simple pleasure that never fails to bring a smile.
Beyond the Food:
Nostalgia Factor: For many Bangaloreans, Richie Rich is a childhood haunt, associated with happy memories and family outings. Stepping into the familiar space evokes a sense of warmth and comfort.
Value for Money: The portions are generous and the prices are affordable, making it a budget-friendly option for a quick bite or sweet treat.
Convenience: With several locations across the city, Richie Rich is accessible and convenient for a casual meal or snack.
Overall:
Richie Rich might not be the most upscale eatery, but it delivers on its promise of comfort food and classic treats at a reasonable price. If you're looking for a familiar, nostalgic experience with generous portions and budget-friendly options, it's definitely worth a visit. Just keep in mind the basic ambiance and limited menu selection.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars (for regular, comfort food experience)

The softy ice cream — we had a hard time picking from over 12 variations.
Lowdown On The Ambience
Truly old school, Richie Rich rings a bell with the 90s kids, as this was the primary hangout after school or college back then. The parlor has limited seating options in some branches, while others may require you to stand — so expect a basic setting. Apart from their ice cream counters, their vintage softy machines and slush counters have various toppings to choose from.
What's On The Menu?
Famous for their softy menu, the softies are clouds of swirly goodness with no added colour or artificial flavours. Keeping it simple is the Richie Rich motto, with a few flavours to choose from like chocolate, strawberry and mango. There are toppings you can choose from — try the chocolate dip where the flavour of your choice is dipped in milk chocolate or perhaps add nuts or chocolate chips. Can’t choose one? Have both, as they give you an option to mix two flavours. You can even try their fruity dips with choices of strawberry, lemon or mango. Apart from the in-house softies, enjoy fresh kulfis, slushies and sundaes.

Service: -One of the waiters there literally threw the menu on the table after we were seated. The other one that took the order was courteous. Working on a Sunday night can be annoying, but that frustration shouldn't be directed at us! -Waiters will serve food to people in the cars parked right outside. -Quick service. It takes Filling.
Conclusion: -There are tons of better eateries in the neighborhood to have chats, rice items, ice creams..etc So, I wouldn't be visiting this overrated...
