Sunday Evening Dinner with Wife & Nephew
I was very keen to explore this place for a long time and went there with lot of recommendation. This restaurant is situated at the intersection of Racecourse road and Kumar Krupa road, opposite to Red Cross Building. Restaurant is on the ground floor of Race View Hotel building; you should be lucky to get parking. Its 100% vegetarian restaurant.
This place is open for breakfast lunch & dinner from Morning 7.30am to 10.30pm. They serve South Indian breakfast, for Lunch & dinner they serve South Indian, North Indian & Chinese dishes. The restaurant claims that they use organic ingredients wherever possible. They also claim that they serve A2 milk which is from native cow breed and contains A2 protein. Most of the items are prepared with pure ghee instead of oil.
We were here at 10pm and only North Indian & Chinese dishes were available, if you were in a mood to taste some chats or the South Indian dishes, you should reach this place before 9.30pm. The south kitchen closes at 9.30pm. The menu is very impressive and most of the traditional dishes are listed and definitely needs one more visited to taste the other dishes.
We ordered Millet Dal Khichdi, Palak Millet Dal Khichdi, Grilled Vegetable Sandwich & Salted Lassi. both the Khichdi were excellent and awesome taste but disappointed with the sandwich and surprised that they don’t serve whole wheat bread or multi grain bread for sandwich. They talk about so much about organic and chemical free cooking and serve a regular bread.
As a foodie, I thought I should mention this in my remark and hope they will implement this in the future. Overall good experience and will definitely recommend this place to friends and relatives even though it is slightly pricey. They also need to mention in detail about the food preparation and organic ingredients used and...

food: many of the menu items "not available" service: plain unacceptable atmosphere: very noisy
i have visited this restaurant over 50 times and almost every time the only thing i order is their millet pongal and every time until today i have been served this dish and its consistency from quality and quantity perspective has been spot on. but today was a very different day. firstly the table manager advised me thus "pongal is available only during lunch time and that since it is past lunch time now (which is 4pm which is when i usually go there) the only other rice items that are available are fried rice, zeera rice etc. then i picked up rava idly from alternatives. but an old rava idly was delivered after 20 minutes. of course today due to unknown reasons the shop was too crowded and noisy but there were so many staff too, moving about all over the place. it's been very disappointing today. maybe today is not my day, but the manager could have just said pongal is out of stock instead of "Advising" that it is a lunch time item...and for god's sake the rava idly could have been served much faster than 20 minutes since it was already a stale one. in hindsight i now feel the hotel management is trying to sell higher priced items like fried rice and shroom rice etc., instead of their millet pongal. maybe i am wrong. i wish i am. i am fan of their millet pongal. let's see.
up to 17-Dec-2023: Very nice ambience. Excellent cutlery and food. Great price. Nice service. A nice restaurant in city center that is not much discovered yet. Especially like their focus on...

A Flavorful Extravaganza
From the moment you step in, the ambiance is inviting and the service is attentive. The starters are a perfect prelude to the main course, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors. The main course is where South Ruchis truly shines. The rich, creamy curries and perfectly cooked breads are a testament to the chef's expertise.
The desserts are the perfect sweet ending to a sumptuous meal.
Valet Parking and Convenience
The restaurant's valet parking service is a huge plus, especially considering the traffic congestion in the area. This ensures a hassle-free dining experience.
Areas for Improvement
While the food is exceptional, the pricing might be on the steeper side for some. Additionally, the wait time for rice items and desserts can be a bit long, especially during peak hours.
Overall Impression
Despite the minor drawbacks, South Ruchis Square is a must-visit for vegetarian food lovers in Bangalore. The exceptional taste and quality of the food, coupled with the convenient valet parking, make it a standout dining experience. It's definitely worth splurging on a special occasion.
Note: While the food and service are commendable, the pricing might be a factor to consider for...
