I guess BBQ NATION has reached its saturation.. I was disappointed with my recent visit to BBQ nation. I have been to BBQ Nation countless times in the past when I was in chennai. This is my first time visit here. The food was below average. Not much of variety. The tangdi kabab was over cooked with less to no flavours. When the waiter asked me how was the food, I said the food was ok.. he explained that BBQ nations cannot serve ok food. It’s always excellent.. I understood that but it was supposed to reflect in the menu.. in non veg if they only wanted to serve tandoori chicken in skewers then I would have gone to some other place have one full tandoori chicken and left the place. I mean they had three non veg starters that includes over cooked tangdi kabab or over spiced Rashmi kabab(I guess). Nothing was in BBQ nations standards. I don’t wanna get more into other food. As everything was below average. I was able to tolerate everything. But when I saw the dessert counter I totally lost hope. The strawberry cake didn’t have any flavour.. the brownie was too sticky, the chocolates balls felt like glue.. I’m wondering how on earth people are ready to have such poorly made desserts. The jamoon and chefs special burfi was good. I would recommend if you don’t know how to make shahi tukda, then for the love of god please do not add it to your menu. Shahi tukda is not plain bread soaked in sweetened milk and topped and served with condensed milk. Such a let down.
People there are more worried about the reviews than the quality of food. When you serve good food, you will have better reviews.
Special mention to the manager, i guess our waiter for the evening went and told that the food was ok. The manager came to me and asked how was the food I told him at was ok he was ready to make anything for me.. by the time I lost my appetite.. he still insisted and served me with some Bengali chicken, it was ok.
But over all more than their menu I could sense everyone’s more worried about he reviews.
During the conversation, I understood BBQ nation only have three standards of rating Good, excellent, and outstanding.. when the food is not good you want us to still review good. I understand as per your standards Good is poor, but I couldnt rate you good coz you don’t keep bad...
Read moreWorst service ever. 3 Days ago I reserved a table at the Town Hall BBQ Nations and the check in went smooth.
The starters were bland but ok. I expected some change of taste or menu but all are same as it was exactly 7 years ago.
We were totally into the buffet and starters and servers approached us with Mojitos and we clearly mentioned we are not interested. 5 Mins later, one of the servers came and said that for each person, 1 mojito is complementary and beyond that it is chargeable for Rs.99/-. We were a group of 7 and I enquired again and he clearly mentioned 7 Mojitos are complementary for us.
So we just listed out name of 7 mojitos and the juice came to our table. 5 out of 7 mojitos tasted horrible (It literally tasted like having a soft drink mixed with 2 tablespoons of Chat Masala) and hardly drank a quarter of it.
Later a person came for billing and he pointer out that since we chose the Sizzling 7 package, the drink was not complementary, however it's chargeable for Rs.99 each.
First thing, we were not interested in mojitos. Second thing, one of the servers came to our table and mentioned that 1 mojito is complementary for each. And now everything is flipped.
I asked the billing person to checkout with the server that he was the one who mentioned the beverage was complementary else we hadn't had the idea of even ordering one. He summoned the server and he completely did a backflip and said that he mentioned that each drink was chargeable.
I was clarifying myself but both the server and the person billing us kept arguing and overpowering the conversation. Later I was forced to pay extra for the 7 mojitos.
Apart from all that, I mentioned that it was a celebration and needed the cake for cutting at the of reservation. One of the servers even came and asked if there was any celebration and need a cake for cutting and I said Yes. He just carried out his regular activities.
Only after the full settlement of the bill they brought the cake, which is absolutely unacceptable and not customer friendly.
Overall, totally disappointed and spoiled the mood of the...
Read moreI had the misfortune of dining at Barbeque Nation on November 9th, and I must say it was a truly regrettable experience. I had pre-booked for a party of 10, anticipating a delightful lunch, but what I encountered was a series of disappointments that marred the entire meal.
First and foremost, the service was incredibly tardy. Each course was served with considerable delays, making us wonder if the staff was aware of our reservation. The language barrier only compounded our frustrations; the serving staff lacked proficiency in English, and I, unfortunately, do not speak Hindi. This miscommunication made our dining experience all the more challenging.
The problems didn't end there. The promised complimentary welcome drink was served not at the beginning of our meal, as one would expect, but right at the end when we were settling the bill. It's baffling how a simple gesture like this could be mishandled.
The absence of a live counter was another letdown. The interactive and engaging element of live cooking was entirely missing, leaving us feeling disconnected from the dining experience we expected.
Worst of all, the main course presented a glaring issue. The "Mutton Rogan Josh" turned out to be a misnomer, as there was no mutton to be found in the dish. This level of carelessness in the kitchen is inexcusable. When I attempted to seek clarification from the serving staff, I was met with nothing more than smiles and a lack of willingness to address the issue.
In summary, my family's first barbecue experience at Barbeque Nation was a massive disappointment. The numerous service delays, language barriers, lack of promised features, and most notably, the absence of mutton in a mutton dish, have left a lasting impression of dissatisfaction. I never anticipated such a letdown, and I would strongly caution others against dining at this establishment until they address my issue. Today is my mother's birthday day. Seriously I wasted...
