Nestled in the bustling streets of Kilpauk, Chennai, Buhari Vintage Hotel stands as a testament to the city's rich culinary heritage. With a modest yet inviting ambiance, this eatery has been serving up a delightful array of dishes that cater to the taste buds of both locals and travelers alike.
Upon entering, one is greeted by the warm smiles of the staff, who, despite being occasionally slow, ensure that your dining experience is comfortable and enjoyable. The menu boasts a variety of cuisines, from the spicy tang of Sichuan to the robust flavors of North Indian fare, not to mention the local favorite - Biryani.
The Biryani, a fragrant symphony of basmati rice and tender meat, is a must-try. It's a dish that truly captures the essence of Chennai's love for rice-based meals. For those with a penchant for seafood, the prawn masala, with its rich and spicy gravy, makes for a perfect accompaniment to a plate of steaming white rice.
Desserts are not to be missed, with the falooda standing out as a crowd-pleaser - a cool and refreshing treat to cap off a spicy meal. And for beverage enthusiasts, the traditional South Indian filter coffee provides a robust end to the feast.

Read moreHey there. Its your friendly guide Chan here. The name Buhari spells tradition, as the restaurant itself has a rich history being acknowledged as a landmark in the city. Of late many small establishments have duplicated the name, leading to a decline in the name they have made for themselves. This said, when the New Vintage Buhari was opened , i was hoping it would do justice to the name. So, i dropped in on a Wednesday afternoon with family to check it out. The decor is brilliant , vintage as the name reads. But that's that. The menu is lacklustre. There arent any signature dishes on offer. Though, they do serve Indian and chinese, i was disappointed with the taste a bit. The chicken Manchurian we ordered was a tad too sweet , tasting similar to the ketchup we were served for the starters. And the noodles was smelling funny. I should say the mutton biryani combo we ordered had a decent quantity and quality, but the chicken tikka pieces and lime juice, the other components of the combo were disappointing in taste and quantity. So much for the heritage. And the price is way too high for the food they serve. Do not order the combos. Service was pretty good. They keep checking on you and clearing the empty dishes. They also had a welcome drink and some chips. And yeah, they have valet parking. That's it...
Read moreArrived the place and got a table as soon as we entered.!! The ambience was outstanding. Was royal and totally vintage.! Kiwi juice and some chips were severed as a complimentary.. the juice was really refreshing. For starters We ordered deviled chicken which literally had that raw smell of chicken. Worst choice.. next was the tender chicken tandoori fry (suggested by the waiter) was worth a try. Crispy outside and totally yummy.. despite the warning, ordered mutton Briyani which was way way tooooo bland and nothing special about it and a veg Briyani which tasted like home cooked brinji.. since we believe that food shouldn't be wasted, tried out almost level best to finish the rice with no interest.. requested for that free chips at the end cos those were the only saving grace for our...
