Okay so this is going to be a detailed review. So watch out! I would suggest this place if you have a team meeting or something, but definitely do not go visit this place if you're planning on working alone, or meeting a friend. Why? I shall elaborate.
So, these guys have some weird "deal" where you can access free internet and use their "office room" for Rs.1400, for 4 hours. The food and other things you order are not a part of this - "deal". Moreover, if you genuinely go to the cafe and order something to eat and carry on with your work ( like I was doing attending a meeting on my laptop) - they (maybe a manager of sorts) will literally point to their watches and say that you're on some 'time limit' level situation. This is a cafe, what? That makes no sense. I could easily as well go to a Starbucks or CCD and order something, just sit and do my work. That is not the case here. Without any sort of random time limit game that I did not sign up to play in the first place. You pay for your time? How does that make any sense? Once again: it is a cafe! Lol.
So watch out, before you even plan to check out this place. Unless you have money to throw away or pay for time. None of this makes sense.
Okay, I'll stop ranting now. Just to be clear, this is not a cafe. Or a place to collect your thoughts or be alone, or work, or chill with a few people. Might as well find some other "real cafe" to chill and relax. Hope this...
Read moreFood was actually good but had a horrible experience with the manager and never going back. 4 of us friends went for dinner at around 9:30pm. 10 mins after ordering food the waitress comes and tells “30 mins delay” , but we didnt hear her properly and before we could clarify the manager rushed over and told, nothing food will be ready in 2 mins. It was 10:20 and no food was served. When we called the manager he pretended not to hear us. Then we informed either all food must be served in 25mins or we are leaving. Then within next 10 mins we were served. The manager walks up while we are eating and says “hope everything was good, you seemed to had gotten very angry” (i never showed any agression, only spoke politely and raised voice a little cause he pretended not to hear us and kept walking away). This triggered all of us. We asked do we not have the right to get angry? Tell us why u said food will be ready in 2 mins but it took 45 mins? He has to gall to reply “if i spoke the truth you would have left”. This idiot has the gall to lie and make us wait and is surprised we got pissed off. Anyways, food was good. Lots of cheese on everything basically. But never...
Read moreI recently visited Cafe Madras Borough, and it was quite an interesting experience. The restaurant had a unique, almost silent theme due to the absence of other customers, which made our group the only ones there.
The place is well-maintained, and the ambience is pleasant, creating a cozy atmosphere. The menu is quite different, featuring a variety of fusion items that piqued our interest. We started with soup and appetizers, which were quite good in terms of taste.
However, while the quality of the food was commendable, the quantity left much to be desired, especially considering the cost. This was a bit disappointing, as we expected more generous portions.
On the positive side, the desserts were delicious and definitely a highlight of the meal. Another delightful aspect of the restaurant is the view. Overlooking the AKDR Golf Course, the sight of the coconut trees is very relaxing. Once the metro rail service starts, the view will be even more intriguing with the sight of the metro trains crossing.
Overall, Cafe Madras Borough has its charm with a good ambience and tasty food, but the portion sizes could be improved to better match...
