i had a very bad experience ordering a cake from here.i ordered the cake to be delivered to a hotel.i asked for a photo cake and left the option to the cake shop person to suggest me the best cake.i dint even ask for the prize and my only request to him was i want the best tasting cake as it an important occasion.he suggested 34%mil chocolate cake i accepted for the same.when he sent me the photo of the finished cake,i was totally disappointed as it was looking very ordinary with out any decoration.i called him to do some decoration,he said it cant be done in a photo cake.accepting that i asked him to atleast decorate the cake at the sides to look rich for which he declined the surprising thing is that ,he asked for me to send some model photos .i send some photo from google ,but the answer from the cake shop was negative saying they cant do like that.it is very surprising to see that they cant even come out with some ideas f decorating the cake.out of frustration i asked him to send the cake as such .here also the delivery person went to a differnt hotel nearby instead of my hotel.the biggest disoppointment is that on receiving the cake,it was very small in size and it didnt look like a two kg cake.that was around 10 pm,we used the cake instead of returing as we cant order anywhere after that time. i immediately called the cake person and imformed this, but as usual he didnt accept anything but said he will call me the nexrt day,i am not a person to write regular reviews in google, but i thought i should write this time as i was totally cheated to pay rs 5000/- for a two kg cake which is way above any premium cake shop in TN,but got a very...
Read moreI walked into the choc choza outlet at RS Puram today. After waiting outside for a few minutes I decided to walk in to place the order. I knew something wasn't right when I was giving the order and repeatedly asked them if they are serving snacks. They said yes and then kept staring at each other when I was ready to place the order. Then finally the senior most started making note of it. . I ordered a Italian Veg Pizza, French Fries, a shake and an ice-cream. He repeated the above order and I confirmed. I had to request them to turn on the A/C outside. After all this we waited for twenty minutes and the fries turned up. Shortly pizza followed and seemed to be mushroom pizza. My son hates mushrooms and since we were both totally famished, we decided to just go ahead and eat. I found it very strange that the pizza tasted weird, with just mushrooms that too the oyster variety and not button. But given the time they might take to sort this out I decided to stay quiet. Imagine my shock when I checked the bill presented to me to discover they had served me chicken pizza. Me, a lifetime vegetarian, couldn't speak. I just wanted to get it out of my system . I took care of that and walked out after paying the bill and decided to share my horrible experience at choco choza. How casual can you get? I have always been proud of the cakes and products that choco choza has been serving the people of Coimbatore, but if you are going to run the show with a bunch of people who don't care for your customers, you are headed for oblivion. Please don't open an eatery if you dont have the bandwidth...

However, it could have been cooked with more care. We expect a softer, tender bite leaning towards Al dente than chewy. But the rest of the stuffing more than made up for how the beef was cooked. It had broccoli and microgreens and the sauce/spread was subtle. The croissant itself was wonderfully done and I'm happy I now have a place on Race Course Road for croissants. So yay!
The Mango Kombucha under 'Mocktails' was delightful. Loved the addition of chia/basil seeds (I for one can't tell them apart.. Oops! đŹ).
I also happened to try out the Blue Pea Tea. This was interesting and I wouldn't have preferred a pot of it.
Tried the steak too. Again, beef was chewy and well done. Maybe they could up invest a tad bit more in excelling a good beef cook.
But keeping the "beef" aside (pun intended), when you're an NRI stuck in Coimbatore, chancing on hangouts like Chocko Choza is like striking a...
