What a lovely afternoon to spend time with my Sis and my Brother-In-Law.
We decided to go out for lunch and zeroed in on @desistreetchennai which is situated very close to Chintamani, Anna Nagar (@googlemaps will show you the exact location).
We reached the restaurant by 1pm and parked our 4 wheeler.
We started with Chicken Soup which was served hot. It was spicy but tasted really good and was a perfect fit on the prevailing weather on this day.
Then we ordered VadaPav. I wouldn’t know how the authentic one would taste but this is no less to that in any way.
Then it was Chole Bature. I would say you shouldn’t miss it. I would give 5 ⭐️ to this without giving a second thought.
Then it was fish tikka followed by lemon roast chicken. Both were cooked to perfection. Best part about the chicken was its tenderness. It melted in our mouth. Spices were used at the right proposition. Do not forget to taste this with mayonnaise sauce. It is too good to resist.
We then got Chilli 🌶 Prawns 🍤 which again tasted divine.
We then ordered Chilly Cheese 🧀 Garlic 🧄 Naan and Lachcha Paratha with Butter Chicken 🍗 gravy.
This was followed my Butter 🧈 Chicken 🍗 Biryani. I must ad it that despite looking so spicy 🌶, the taste was stupendous. Their cost which otherwise seems to be high for this dish is justified considering the portion since 2-3 people can have it. It was served with delicious Raita.
We finally signed it off with Desi Street Sundae on a Sunday. This is also something you shouldn’t miss it.
Overall, we had spent little over 2.5 hours which is worth it considering the ambiance inside which was soothing and the attitude of staff which complimented it coupled with great food which tasted really delicious.

Read moreDesi street located in Alwarpet is proof that satisfying and delicious food need not be served in the most lavish setting or be so expensive that it’ll burn a hole in your pocket. Serving an extensive menu ranging from soups, chaat, thalis, snacks, sandwiches, starters, breads, rice, noodles, beverages, desserts and more. ✨
A very small restaurant whose ambience can be improved as the lights are not proper and the space hopefully gets soon expanded back to their original Anna Nagar spot which shut down due to the pandemic. 🚨 Don’t go by the photos you see on Google as it’s the previous branch pictures. 🚨
Pani puri (60rs) was absolutely delicious (MUST TRY) as it tasted exactly like that desi pani puri and bonus points for those 6 puris which didn’t just end up breaking as soon as you put the teekha pani. 😌 Spring rolls (180rs) is meant for everyone who loves authentic indo-chinese food, super spicy and crispy. 🥵 Cheese murukku sandwich (90rs) was new on their menu and was really yummy! Instead of going all the way to Sowcarpet, I guarantee you that you’ll enjoy this one thoroughly. 🤌🏻 Vada pav (50rs) is a MUST TRY cause it was absolutely lipsmacking and I’m glad they suggested us to try that out! 🤤 Veg fried rice (220rs) was perfectly cooked served in great quantity and went really well with the crispy vegetables (220rs)that was also a MUST TRY! It’s not on the menu but you can ask them about it. Ordered a cold chocolate (100rs) that tastes like an average chocolate milkshake so would probably try their other drinks out. 😄
Found a few flies there which they’ve already started working on upon by suggestion. 🌟 On the whole, would recommend you to go and enjoy the food or even do...
Read moreDesi Street is a newbie opened up in Anna Nagar and it boasts a eclectic menu comprising of Chaat,Indian dishes and a few Chinese stuff thrown in as well.I was part of a taste review program that took place last week. The restaurant is located near Chinthamani and has parking space available.
The restaurant has no nonsense interiors and an open kitchen so you can monitor the hygiene aspect. It was a vast array of food to taste and savour.
Started off with the chaats, Pani Puri,Dahi Papdi Chat both of which were good .Then came the starters -Chadni Paneer Tikka which was panneer slices sandwiched with masala and finished off with gooey cheese on top.Truly scrumptious! Crispy Spinach rolls detract from the guilt of eating rfied stuff with the goodness of the vegetable. Sonali Tikka was their interesting take on the traditional Chicken Tikka. Then came the Rolls with different fillings-Butter Chicken,Chicken Malai,Mixed Veg and Paneer Tikka ,each one was good in its own way with the soft paratha wrap going very well with the tasty fillings. A must try dish here is the Honey roasted chicken which was big pieces of chicken with a sweet and spicy glaze.
Next was the turn of the rice course and the Butter Chicken Briyani lived up to its hype, fragrant pulao with boneless pieces of butter chicken.I tried the Pudhina Paratha ,Chilly Cheese Naan with the Desi Street Chicken Curry and Desi Street Paneer which was equally delicious.
Finished off the meal with the interesting brownie blast ice cream which was just as the name suggest-brownie blended into the form of an ice cream.
Overall loved the food and will surely...
