One of the best places to have sizzlers in Chennai. I've been visiting this place for more than 8 years, and the quality has been consistent throughout.
It's a quaint place with a nice ambiance. Some days, there would be a candlelight dinner. You'll definitely feel at home in this place. The staff are extremely friendly and if you are lost about what to order, you can always ask them and trust that their suggestion would be delicious.
Now, coming to the most important factor - food! They have an excellent variety of sizzlers. There is even an Indian range of sizzlers, and they taste wonderful! Their deserts and beverages are decent, but it doesn't matter, since the main reason for coming here are the sizzlers. Only thing you should be wary of is if the seafood is fresh.
Service times are good and even during the peak hours, they never take too long. It's a small place, so if you think there will be a rush, do make a reservation. They have parking in front of the restaurant for about 3-4 cars. But you can always park further down the road, since it's a residential area.
Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in having a nice quiet time with amazing food.
My favourite sizzlers - Chicken Torrean, Prawn Candolin, Mixed Vegetable Chutneywala,...

That used to be a problem as children grew up. In their teenage years, the last thing they wanted was 'home food' outside.
What's the point of eating out, they would pout? That rang true but finding a multi-cuisine restaurant that served everything was like the apocryphal story of a camel being a horse designed by a committee!
It was ok for everyone and great for none. The acceptable option.
They wanted Thai and Italian pastas which the older members in the house found tasteless.
But Tangerine hit all the high notes. From the Chicken Peri Peri to the Fish Vasco to the Torreon, they are lip smackingly delicious. They come sizzling from the kitchen and heaped on to the metal plate that was scalding.
The baked potatoes with dollops of sour cream and the pickled vegetables were delectable.
And then the wonderful apple pie filled with pieces and a thin crust accompanied with vanilla ice cream.
Tangerine also used to have live music on Fridays and showed off the work of emerging artists.

Read moreVisited this place for dinner after many years. The ambience has pretty much remained the same. The variety of sizzlers available here are second to none. We started with the chicken coriander soup and chicken wings and both were good. The soup was creamy and flavorful and the chicken wings was deep fried and tossed in BBQ sauce. We tried the Alfredo pasta along with 4 sizzlers for main course. The pasta was really tasty. We had 2 chicken sizzlers and the BBQ sizzler was the pick of it. We also had the fish and chips which was pretty good - the tartar sauce was amazing. The only let down was the mutton sizzler which we felt was a little undercooked. In all the sizzlers, we expected mashed potatoes but we were served a baked potato with sour cream on top. None of us liked it, it was just too bland.
Overall, a good experience but a little bit on the pricier side and the quantity might not be sufficient for a good eater especially for the sizzlers you order...
