🌟 One of the Worst Dining Experiences – Thalapakatti Hotel, Gandhipuram (Avoid at All Costs!) 🌟 Today, I had what was easily one of the most disappointing food experiences at Thalapakatti Hotel, Gandhipuram. Given the brand’s name and hype, I expected at least decent food and value for money, but what I got was an absolute disaster on every front — food quality, quantity, pricing, and overall experience.
Let me break it down honestly:
🍚 Veg Fried Rice – Tasteless Slop The veg fried rice was a total joke. It felt like eating wet sand mixed with boiled rice — absolutely no flavor, no aroma, and zero seasoning. It was literally just rice soaked in oil or water with some color — I honestly don’t know what they were thinking serving such bland nonsense. Not a single vegetable had any crunch or taste. It was dry in parts and soggy in others. I’ve had better fried rice at a street cart for ₹60, while this overpriced trash didn’t even deserve to be called food.
🍗 Chicken 65 – Daylight Robbery Now let’s talk about the biggest rip-off: the Chicken 65. They charged ₹360 — and what did I get? A tiny box of oily, over-fried scraps. Not even decent pieces, just some dry bits and crumbs that tasted like they were reheated multiple times. The portion was laughable. I actually thought they had made a mistake with the order because no one in their right mind would charge this much for so little. Even the flavor was aggressively average — overly salty with nothing special in the marinade. Absolute daylight robbery.
🍗🥘 Chicken and Mutton Biriyani – Hugely Overrated Now coming to the so-called "legendary" biriyanis. The chicken biriyani was just okay at best — but even that felt like leftover biriyani reheated in a microwave. The rice wasn’t flavorful, the masala was weak, and the chicken was dry. But the mutton biriyani was the ultimate insult — I got just ONE mutton piece weighing around 30 grams. I’m not joking. For the price charged, it’s an absolute scam. The meat was chewy and undercooked, and the entire dish tasted like it had no love or care put into it.
😤 Total Waste of Money and Time I walked into this place hoping for a solid South Indian non-veg experience. What I got was overpriced, underwhelming, and borderline inedible food. The portion sizes are ridiculous, quality is poor, and the pricing is absurd. There is nothing justifying the premium they charge. On top of it, the service was slow and uninterested — like they were doing you a favor.
🚫 Final Verdict: NEVER Again Thalapakatti Gandhipuram has officially made it to my “never again” list. If you value your tastebuds, your money, and your time, skip this place. There are plenty of better options nearby that actually respect the customer and serve proper food.
Rating: 1/5 (only because 0 isn’t possible)
Such an waste restaurant in the whole world even the biriyani from small shops are better. Such an waste of money waste of energy. For this I waited more...
Read moreThere is no zero star to give, Worst experience, i have taken my family to this hotel to give good food and experience but these hotel guys spoiled it. Poor customer service, we waited for 30 minutes on table and nobody cared to come and take orders. A family came and sat next to our table and within 5 minutes one guy came and took order from them and he didn't even bothered to take order from us. And we shouted and called them and he said , sir please wait will come and after 10 mins he came to take order by the time the family who sat next to us finished eating. There was a guy who keep the paper on every table to keep the plates and he kept paper in every table but not in our table. For that also we asked them he said in this busy time it will be like this only. I mean WTH !!! We were all in hungry for 40 minutes simply sitting waiting for food and parents want to go out and shouting at these people behaviour or just leave once they get the food, but I calmed them and waited for food. Ok, We waited so long and for that wait the food atleast should taste good and delicious but a small hotel next to my home serves great food than this hotel for less price, very costly for average tasting food. Will never ever come to this hotel and never recommend to anyone else. This is my long review ever in google map. One old guy has real head weight as if he is the owner, but still you get profit and salary only if people eat and give money. With this type of customer service the reputation will go down for sure, 100 people like me experience this type of service and think about the...
Read moreMy recent visit to Dindigul Thalapakatti was an absolute delight, earning it a well-deserved 5-star rating. The highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the Mutton Biryani—a symphony of flavors that left our taste buds in awe.
The Mutton Biryani at Dindigul Thalapakatti is a culinary masterpiece. The fragrant blend of spices, perfectly cooked rice, and tender mutton created a taste sensation that exceeded expectations. Each mouthful was a journey through the rich culinary heritage of Dindigul.
Complementing the star of the show were the side dishes, each adding its unique touch to the meal. However, it's worth noting that the quantity of the side dishes, while delicious, was a tad less compared to other establishments. The burst of flavors compensated for the slight shortfall, making it a minor consideration in an otherwise outstanding dining experience.
The popularity of Dindigul Thalapakatti is evident in its bustling atmosphere, and rightly so. The demand for tables does mean a wait, but trust me, it's well worth it. The ambiance, coupled with the attentive staff, contributes to an overall pleasant dining experience.
In conclusion, Dindigul Thalapakatti stands out as a gem for Mutton Biryani enthusiasts. The quality and taste of the dishes far outweigh any minor considerations, earning this establishment a solid 5-star rating. I look forward to my next visit to savor the exceptional...
