Hotel Vasantha Bhavan — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I am Sekar and I am a senior citizen. On 8th September ( Sunday) evening at 6.00pm myself with family members( all are senior citizens)went to this hotel to have some food parcels for the dinner. We ordered 4 sets chapati and two dosa. They delivered the parcel food by 6.30 pm. Then we went to the Rameshwaram busstand and boarded the Chennai Omni bus ( Vetri travels). The bus departed Rameshwaram at 7.10.pm. Around 7.30 pm all of us eagerly opened the Vasantha bavan food parcel and were shocked. Instead of chapati they have put parota. Actually none of us like this parota. It is hard to digest. Moreover that parota was extremely hard. May be the previous day stuff. So we left out that food and didn't eat. I first thing you notice after seeing the reviews is the lack of hygiene. The first thing you notice when you are actually at the place is the lack of other options. We decided to give it a try as there were not other hotels nearby open. We ordered Veg rice, Gobi curry, and paneer curry along with tea. The plate was not properly cleaned. Among the better options we tried. Far from what I would like to frequent, but a recommended option if you are in this temple town and looking for a dining option near east entrance.

Best dishes (worthy of mentioning): sambar and chutney was decent, which made the overall meal a lot more palatable. The pongal and vada were great.
