I've been un Salem for almost a fortnight. Been hearing this name when I go around. Went for lunch. Confusions galore on where to sit for lunch. You find some seating beyond the entrance which are non air-conditioned. Just opposite the billing counter, up one floor I saw an sign board Saying AC. Went there. Small place neatly arranged. Since it was peak lunch time had to wait before finding a seat. Sat down and ordered meals. For other tiffen items, they do serve there without tokens 🤔. They asked us to buy token downstairs for it. Specifically asked us to buy Limited meal token. I was already fed up waiting but nevertheless Went down to the counter I mentioned before.
There, while waiting my turn, I saw another AC meals section opposite the entrance beyond the non AC section. Just curious I went there and saw full meals were served and even saw it was sparsely populated. I did see a board stating AC meals only or something similar. So, finally(!@) Went there and I ordered an unlimited meal. someone else wanted tiffin items but they don't serve it here 😪 it seems.
Okay, I missed it, so it was full meals and mushroom biriyani.
Taste: unlimited meal plate consisted of many small containers with usual tamilnadu lunch accompaniments. Unfortunately they didn't excite the taste bud. I would say below standard for such a big fame restaurant. Big let down. Mushroom biriyani seemed palatable.
Price is decent. No complaints.

The meal platter comes with a huge variety of dishes. Its an all you can eat meal platter (thali)(full meals) which includes a bread, soup, lemon juice, rice, papad and many gravies with a final finishing touch of paan(beetle leaf - not many restaurants do this in the meal)
We had parotta kurma, ghee roast and onion ghee roast and taste stands second to none!
The pricing is the most reasonable one and most affordable high quality tasty food for a common man.
They have a separate coffee bar in the opposite side of the main business which I did not try, but the aroma was great!
They have a sweet shop next to the main business and hands down they are best in town.
They have ample space for parking near the coffee bar and easy entry and exit access.
Overall verdict, I strongly recommend to visit this place.

Read moreA huge restaurant come party hall that can be used for special occasions like birthday party, engagement ceremonies. This place looks like an old wedding hall used as a Hotel. Hotel is located in a very narrow road. They have a dedicated 2 and 4 wheeler parking a little away from Hotel. We went here for late lunch at 4:30pm and was surprised that they did not allow us to sit in a/c hall as it was only meant for meals, what nonsense.
The servers force you to take a seat and share the table with strangers, what nonsense again. Trying to accommodate as many customers and just get a bill rolling.
I will never go to this place again.
The food was also ok types and not exceptional, we tried their parota, chapati, paniyaram, podi dosa, noodles, Gobi Manchurian. The only item that was good was their paneer noodles. Others were average, Gobi Manchurian was not good at all. They did noy have bonda bajji at 5:30pm and that too in Salem. A...
