Lalit Vihar — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

We went to the hotel lalit vihar yesterday for lunch while we visited the golden temple and Jalakanderwara temple.

The hotel is situated in a small street on a busy lane, little difficult to find but Google map helped us and the locals were helpful too.

We were 6 people( 4 adults and 2 kids). The owner greeted us and told us they have both ac and non-ac we can choose anything as per comfort, single we walk from old bus stand to hotel , we choose to go inside ac.

The temperature was well maintained inside. Soon the waiter came to take orders as well. We order 2 thali ( 1 marwadi Thali and one special marwadi Thali) and butter naans with paneer butter masala with chaas.

The thali was non sharing and it has a lot more quantity to eat by single person servers with salad. A normal marwadi had 4 ghee chapathi , 3 veggies, dal, curd, sweet, papad and rice .

Social thali had additional matar paneer, bajra roti, makki roti and tandoori roti. We told them we didn't need rice as we were full and don't want to waste the food.

The chas was thick and really delicious.

The waiter keeps asking if we need anything to refill or we need anything else, which is very rare other similar hotels

We all were really delighted with the service that was offered and would recommend our friends to visit this hotel if they visit Vellore.

PS. The accept only cash and UPI...

Lalit vihar is very popular among the North Indians in vellore. Many students at VIT and visitors to CMC prefer this restaurant for their authentic north indian food at a reasonable price.

Many of my Jain friends used to come here especially during a specific festival/ season when they wanted jain style food.

The ambience is very simple and the service is quick. Most dishes are dhaba style. Rotis and other breads are good. One complain I have about their gravies is that they sometimes over decorate them with cheese or cream and add too much oil. Other than that, they taste fine.

The lassi is decent, while the buttermilk can be skipped. What I liked the most was their rabdi/basundhi. It was fresh, creamy and just the right amount of sweet. Would definitely recommend for authentic north...

This hotel is very good in terms of cleanliness in terms of punctuality in terms of service. This hotel provides North Indian food Marwari Thali extra the price of the hotel menus are completely cheaper than other hotels which are situated near CMC Vellore Hospital. The manager of the hotel is also very cooperative.. the staff of the hotel is also very Cooperative and well behaved and the quality of the food is also very hygienic I am from Bihar visited CMC Hospital and someone told about the lawyer Hotel Lalit Vihar it is inside the Gali what I get the good quality food and there is a special Marwadi Hari which is at special price of rupees 120 only you will get unlimited chapati unlimited rice with unlimited dall unlimited curry unlimited...
