We went to madras chronicle each and everyday for our 3 day stay at Mahabalipuram, and tried out many of their dishes . Starting with the best- their filter coffee, smooth and strong👍🏼 The cold coffee, lime soda and Oreo shake - delicious and worth it. The pancakes and waffles - amazing ! Pancakes were light and fluffy and the kids loved them , waffles were crispy and so tasty - highly recommend. The pizza was “ ok ok “ something about the base tasted very biscuity. The crispy okra was not oily , crispy and seasoning was balanced , so I’d say it was 👍🏼. Coming to the absolute worse part- the raj kachori .( last 2 pics ) It looked yummy but once we dug into it -it tasted stale , was dried inside, the chickpeas were hard and cold like as if the ingredients were pulled out from the fridge and put together . The beetroot garnish was dried out and withered 😬 very unappealing and we left it uneaten as didn’t want to eat stale food and get sick . Another point they would want to look into is the service- very slow. The waitresses move lethargically and are almost timid and listless. They don’t engage , are not sure of the menu items themselves , give confused expressions and for anything you order ,2 of them will approach the table slowly like in slow motion - 1 will look blankly at you and nod her head slowly the other will enter the order on their phone/ tablet - they’ll speak among themselves and slink off quietly. Pretty weird, happened every single time we wanted to place the order . This needs improvement. Otherwise it’s a good place and would definitely visit again for the good stuff on the menu .

Extremely Disappointed with the service. Food was okayish. Atmosphere was good. We ordered four items in total. The Hot and Sour Soup was pretty good — we loved it. But that’s about it. We ordered the Pallipalayam French Fries, which took them 20 minutes to serve. The quantity was disappointing, especially after paying ₹320 for their "special." The taste was bad — no salt, and we were expecting it to be dry, but it was soggy with gravy. We should have checked with the staff before ordering, so that’s on us. Then came the Korean Gochujang Rice Cake, which was okay. We finished all these by 3:50 PM (we arrived at 3:05 PM). Then we ordered the Enchiladas and waited. There was no update from the waitress for 30 minutes, while other tables were getting their orders very quickly. The waitress said “2 minutes” a couple of times, but the food never came. Tired of waiting, we asked them to cancel it. Just as we got up to leave, they brought the order. We told them we weren’t hungry anymore, and her response was, “We can’t cancel the order once it’s made.” No empathy, nothing — just an arrogant reply, repeated multiple times. Only the cashier at the entrance was apologetic about the delay and agreed to cancel the order. Overall, the food was mediocre, the service was extremely slow (and looking at other negative reviews, this seems to be common), and the experience was pathetic. Will not be visiting or recommending this place again.

Madras Chronicle is an all in all pure vegetarian restaurant near the shore temple of Mahabalipuram. We had a wonderful time during our dinner on a Saturday evening. They have a garden setup with tables and chairs and they also an AC hall where it is cool and nice. If you come in post 7.30 pm expect half an hour waiting time. Coming to the food we ordered Paneer Tikka and Everything Asian (Full meal sizzler) along with fresh lime soda. The Paneer Tikka had six pieces well barbecued, soft and delicious to taste. Everything Asian Sizzler was finger licking tasty. It had Noodles with zuchinni, brocoli veggies in black pepper sauce and two fried momos. It was done up very well and tasted real good. Lastly we ordered for Nutella delight waffle which was good as well. The service was very good and the servers were attentive. The menu varies from Soups, Chinese, Tandoori, Continental, Chaats, North Indian, Mexican. Pizzas, Full meal sizzlers, Mocktails and a lot of dessert options. The best tip I could give traveller's is to go for an early dinner. Be there at 7.00 pm To avoid big crowds and slow service. Getting to the restaurant is a challenge because of the congested road and very limited parking. Weekends are really crowded. It is open from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm. They accept UPI,Cards and cash as well. Definitely worth going in if you are in Mahabalipuram.

Recently, I had the pleasure of indulging in an exceptional culinary experience. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant to the last bite of dessert, every aspect of the dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary.

The moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a warm, traditional and inviting atmosphere.

Since it's newly opened, the service staff definitely needs improvement. The owner was attentive, friendly, and well-informed about the menu. They took great care in explaining the dishes, making recommendations, and ensuring that all our needs were met promptly.

We began our gastronomic journey with a selection of appetizers, and each dish was a testament to the chef's creativity and skill. The country rice, pita bread & hummus, tower glass of Jamun mocktail, barbecue french fries perfectly seasoned and accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce, was a delightful start.

Moving on to the main course, the restaurant continued to impress with its diverse and mouthwatering offerings. The noodles sizzler, pesto & sun-dried tomatoes, burriots served with flavoured rice was a symphony of flavors. Each dish showcased a harmonious balance of flavors, leaving me craving more.

No culinary journey is complete without indulging in a sweet finale. We ordered waffles and it was a sublime combination of richness and sweetness.

I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional flavours. The attention to detail in every aspect, from the ambience to the service and, most importantly, the remarkable flavors, truly sets this establishment apart. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a memorable night out, this restaurant is sure to exceed your...
