⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ During my stay at Lingam Residency in Mahabalipuram, I was recommended to try out Sri Anandha Bhavan for breakfast, and it was an excellent suggestion! The moment I walked in, the aroma of authentic South Indian food was inviting. I started with the Masala Dosa—crispy on the outside and packed with a deliciously spiced potato filling. The Sambar Vada was another highlight, perfectly soaked in flavorful sambar, making it melt in your mouth. The service was quick and courteous, and the ambiance had a warm feel. Overall, Sri Anandha Bhavan is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the true flavors of South Indian cuisine in Mahabalipuram. A big thank you to Lingam Residency for the recommendation!

The food at Sri Ananda Bhavan was average and did not meet expectations. The service was slow, and the staff seemed unorganized. The cleanliness of the dining area could also be improved. Items are overpriced as per taste, service and ambience. Overall, it was a disappointing experience compared to similar establishments. "Met Harish Bali from Visa2Explore here and had a wonderful time sharing thoughts and experiences. It was good to see his passion for exploring diverse cuisines and cultures. The conversation was insightful, and his genuine enthusiasm for travel and storytelling left an impression. Wanted to have south thali meal but they denied stating minimum 3 orders. Such a nonsense 🙄

Ananda Bhavan never disappoints! Their masala dosa is a standout favorite of mine too, with its perfectly crispy texture and flavorful filling. And let's not forget about their delicious coffee, a perfect complement to any meal. With a wide variety of items on the menu, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere adds to the experience, offering a serene and peaceful setting ideal for gathering with both family and friends. Whether you're craving traditional South Indian fare or simply seeking a cozy spot to unwind, Ananda Bhavan is the perfect choice for a memorable dining experience.

I usually don't write reviews here, but the horrible experience that I had here convinced me that I had to do it, for the sake of other tourists. I visited during mid september morning to have breakfast. Ofcourse I believed the numerous 5 Star reviews for this place and fell for it. However neither the food nor the service was worth the 5 stars....let's start with the food - I ordered poori and coffee. The size of the pooris were laughable at best, it's like a mother poori gave birth to 3 little pooris. The taste of the poori masala was below average, bland and too small for the portion, but it was fresh though, so that's the only good one. Coffee - the worst, the milk had bits of solid fat, not at all filtered properly, and the powder they used was less when I clearly mentioned it to be strong....STRONG! Atlast for the climax, after paying the bill I got up to leave but the server who served my table wouldn't let me leave. He repeatedly forced me to give review, and he was literally instructing me as to how it should be, like mentioning his name and saying how amazing and fulfilling his service was and blah blah. Seriously, guys how low must you stoop to get new customers?? Is this the way you treat people who visit your place??? I got so angry, I wanted to grab his shirt, but I knew that it wouldn't be his fault entirely, since the owners were also linked to this stupid plan of forcibly extorting reviews....Since I was running late, I just kept quiet without creating a scene.... Dont ever visit this place people. The good reviews here are either fake or forced....who knows they might have also suffered like me ....but tourists BEWARE! There are other good places with lesser yet genuine reviews that offer good food with...

The restaurant offers a decent dining experience, particularly in terms of food quality and ambiance. While the atmosphere is generally pleasant, the ventilation system is a notable issue. They have air conditioning, yet it wasn't in use during my visit, making the environment somewhat uncomfortable. Proper ventilation plays a significant role in enhancing a customer’s overall dining experience, especially in warm or humid conditions, and this was clearly lacking.

As for the food, I ordered two dishes: dosai and boori. The dosai itself was well-prepared with a good texture and flavor, but the sambar served alongside it was underwhelming. Sambar is an essential element of South Indian meals, and when it falls short, it can greatly diminish the overall dish. In this case, the sambar lacked the richness and balance of flavors that one would expect, making the dosai experience feel incomplete.

Similarly, the boori was prepared well in terms of texture and taste, but the potato gravy that accompanied it was disappointing. A good potato gravy should complement the boori by offering a well-seasoned, flavorful counterpart to the bread. Unfortunately, the gravy lacked depth in flavor, making the boori dish feel flat and unexciting.

Overall, the restaurant does have potential, and the food is not without its merits. However, a few key improvements could greatly enhance the dining experience. Better use of air conditioning, coupled with more attention to the quality of side dishes such as sambar and potato gravy, would make a noticeable difference. With some adjustments, the restaurant could elevate itself to a much higher standard and provide a more satisfying experience for...

Pathetic restaurant. Try to avoid to the extent possible.

After reading good reviews, we decided to eat there. The place was chaotic. Waiters were randomly roaming around and people at most tables were waiting.

Anyways, we placed order and paid at the counter (you have to pay in advance). However, for 10 minutes nobody came to collect the coupon. We called the waiter twice, but he waived saying someone else would collect it. Finally, 15 minutes later, a waiter from another restaurant called "Chettinadu Virundhu" (he was wearing their uniform) came and collected the coupon. After a long 20 min wait, the waiter brought food for us that someone else had ordered. When we complained, another waiter said some of the items we ordered (soup) are not even served there. This was absolute blunder. Person at the counter was utterly confused. We left...
