SUNRISE RESTAURANT since 1983 — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

This was my first time visiting this restuarant and I really loved the food.

The restuarant was less crowded, our friend suggested this restuarant to definitely visit when going to Mamallapuram.

I recommend trying YG Chicken (₹330) and Chicken Pasta (₹340) - this pasta is the best which I've tried so far. They're tasty and definitely a must try.

Also tried Honey Chicken (₹320) - not the sweetness I imagined, it's not as good as YG Chicken - which was a bit sour taste and blended well with the chicken.

Tava Prawns (₹320) was a huge treat, the masala and spices exceeded our expectations! (Couldn't get a pic, we immediately ate it when it arrived)

Seafood Noodles (with Schezwan add-on) (₹200 + ₹30) - consisting of prawn and calamari (squid) also tasted good. We also ordered Chicken Fried Rice (₹150) which is also good.

We were suggested to try Panacotta (₹180) (a chilled desert with cream and gelatin). We were given 3 flavours to choose, Strawberry/Chocolate/Caramel - we all chose Caramel Panacotta since it's the best flavour for this desert (also suggested by friends). All I can say that it tastes good but for the price it's not good enough to me but you can too try it atleast once!

A last minute plan and I guess this is the first time we have headed to Mahabs for lunch. I was a bit scared, called the place thrice to see if they've it sanitized, tec.

Roof top of a bunglow turned, restaurant. You get to see the Mahabs and bit of the sea from the roof top. Parking is in a narrow street and easy to spot the place.

Service, definitely needs improvement. Had to remind twice to get plates, cultery and even the receipt.

We liked everything that we ordered except for the desserts. My favourites are - Prawn Sizzler, Tava Fish and Chicken in White Sauce.

What didn't work for me:

Super slow service, ofcourse it's because there's only one guy to take and deliver orders. Portion size needs improvement. Panacotta, is a disaster. Needs to revisit the price and the quality.

Disappointment is an understatement!!!

Sharing my experience on various segments regarding this restaurant .

Hospitality Help yourself with water and tissues before arriving at this place, because the restaurant ppl are not going to cater it instantly. For every order make sure to keep regular follow ups and drain your energy (yeah, that pathetic their service is).

Food Another disaster. After undergoing their hospitality trauma, and a long wait you get a very very colourful food where masalas are playing massive role . And they are very hesitant to provide extra cutlery ( make sure to bring one from home ). And don’t ask for lime soda because they serve you without diluting sugar (they are very busy). It’s totallY DIY.

Parking No words again. A rugged place where May be you can make a flat tyre. Located at interior spot.
