Indeco Hotels — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

We have been to indeco swamimalai, Yercaud and now mahabalipuram too. What works? The place is green and a few feet away from the beach with its own private approach path. While the decor is quite kitsch, at night it makes a pretty picture with all the lights and greens. The staff is responsive most of the times, especially the ones in the restaurant. Our tables were cleaned even before we finished washing our hands. Ever smiling faces and all very young. The rooms are very clean and comfy. Of course, if you have a back pain like me do order a floor mattress. The south indian break fast is ok. The place has many beautiful spaces to sit and relax with your family or with a book.

What does not work? Food definitely is not their strength. In fact except for their swamimalai branch, Yercaud and Mahabalipuram score quite low on their food. Thankfully there are many food options outside the hotel at half the prices. The ac and fans inside the room are quite noisy. While the front end staff during our welcome was courteous, we did face an extremely egotistical and rude front office staff, by the name of Karthik and that was perhaps the only aberration in our stay. Our car had gotten punctured and we could not leave for a day trip as per our morning schedule, but instead of helping us, he seemed to be more concerned about proving a point and seemed to not care. Finally the security and other staff offered to help our driver with changing the tyre.

Apart from that, I would still strongly recommend this place if you are not very fussy about food and just want a place near by the beach...

We went as a family trip. 3 families. Below are my comments about the place and resort- It is located in the heart of Mahabalipuram. Hence things to buy or to visit nearby places is not a problem. To be precise it is opposite to shore temple parking area. The rooms are neat and clean. Do not expect 5 or 4 star rooms. We stayed in deluxe room. Shower was working and nice hot water is available. No disturbance from the staff or other people. It is very near to beach and at a walkable distance. There is a volleyball court. But when we went it was too sunny for playing. The TT board is horribly maintained. I took my TT bats to play thinking they will have TT balls. But the balls were so horrible. Those balls are meant for 3 year kids to play. They charge so much for the resort at least they could have bought branded TT balls. The bats were even more horrible and the net was totally torn. But if you wish to play TT, get your own bats and balls. There is a snooker board also but most of the time it was occupied, Hence I do not know how the board is. Swimming pool was good. The only place you can be on a sunny day. The bar is horrible. It looked deserted. I went and asked for the items they had. All are local brands only. So bring your own stuff as they have mini fridge inside room. Morning sunrise is special. So get up early and to go beach. We were unlucky as it was too cloudy. Average place to spend a night. A beautiful greenery environment that makes us to forget the busy city life. the antique collections are amazing .guddos to whoever maintains it :) Feel at home place. since, the resort its in the center all the tourist place is reachable by walk... Mornings are quite and pleasant with birds chirping ......one can simply sit and adore the Natures beauty :) . Nights are cozy with lights all around . The staffs are friendly ready to serve at our convenience . loved the restaurant - the theme with lights and green bench .Food tastes delicious especially ,I loved the French Breakfast buffet. Beach is accessible within walk-able distance… more apt to enjoy in the early morning sunshine. Swimming pool is Neat and clean- water has been recycled . Best part is that we have seen many foreign tourists around enjoying themselves …. its fun to be around sharing & understanding our culture diversity. Dome shaped rooms are unique & classy. Standard rooms are good enough . may be bit of maintenance required for AC and extra lights could be added.
