Last week, I visited this hotel with my two children around 2 PM after a boating trip. The kids were very hungry, so I placed our food order and waited. Shortly after, a group of around 20 people—Malayali speakers—arrived. The staff greeted them warmly, took their orders in Malayalam, and served them promptly. They enjoyed their meal for over an hour and left satisfied.
Meanwhile, I kept checking on our order, and the staff repeatedly assured me it was being prepared. After waiting for over an hour, another staff member approached and asked what we had ordered. I was shocked when he said that no order had been placed for our table. I went downstairs to speak with the original staff member and tried to raise the issue with the billing counter, but no one seemed interested in listening.
It felt like we were deliberately ignored, possibly due to being Tamil-speaking. Despite being in Tamil Nadu, the staff showed clear bias, which was deeply disappointing—especially considering my children were visibly hungry and distressed.
If the hotel prioritizes service only for Malayali customers, they should make that clear upfront. It's disheartening to see such discrimination, especially in a place meant to serve all guests equally. We left the hotel frustrated and hurt, while the other 20 ppl group walked out with a sense of pride, seemingly confident in their preferential treatment.
Let’s hope better sense prevails and such experiences don’t...

Read moreWe went to the restaurant based on its reviews and it was probably one of the worst restaurants we have been to in Ooty. It is one of those restaurants which is ideally located so cleanliness is not a top priority for them. There were papers(they give paper instead of napkins) and food waste all on the floor. We went at night and ordered veg biryani, the veggies were spoiled and gave a foul smell. The chicken roast curry we ordered to go along with the biryani was okay but too watery. There was no thickness to the gravy as if they didn't boil it with chicken enough to thicken the gravy. And the worst part was their plates smelled bad! We poured hot water on it and saw an oily layer forming...
