We recently celebrated first birthday party of our Son on 19th Sep 2021 in Shree Anandhaas Party Hall, Narayapuram. The event was planned very well in advance (at least planning went well) and menu was customized from Special dinner package and the same was communicated. In spite of such planning & efforts we couldn’t enjoy the day ☹. If my review helps someone, I will be very happy. If you still feel there is no other option left (there are plenty of good party halls around pallikaranai) then you must have the below skill sets to enjoy the day!!!
Review: Extremely Disappointed – Decline in Standards and Poor Staff Behavior
I’ve been visiting this hotel regularly since 2021, but unfortunately, the quality and service have hit an all-time low.
During my recent visit, I ordered a dosa and was shocked by what was served. The coconut chutney was overly salty and even had salt crystals in it. I informed the staff, but no corrective action was taken—shockingly, the same chutney was served again. The dosa was very soar and informed them.
The service was even worse. The staff did not provide drinking water and tried to serve food on an unclean banana leaf. Despite my request to wait while I cleaned it—as is customary in South Indian tradition—the server went ahead and placed the food anyway. When I explained this is not acceptable, his response was a dismissive “I know.” I even asked in Hindi, "If you know, then why did you serve it before cleaning?" He simply ignored me.
I raised the issue with the supervisor, who called the staff member—but even then, the staff did not show any respect or heed the supervisor’s instructions.
To make matters worse, when I reported all of this to the person at the cash counter (possibly the owner), he barely listened and brushed it off with a vague "I’ll take care of it." We were stranded in the parking area due to rain for 30 minutes, and during that time, I didn’t see him speak to the staff or make any effort to follow up.
Hiring staff from other regions is a management decision, but they must be properly trained in the basic customs and hygiene practices of South Indian dining. That includes cleaning the table after a customer leaves, providing water promptly, and respecting traditional practices like cleaning banana leaves before serving food.
Totally disappointed—both by the staff’s behavior and the management’s...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Aree Anandhas in Coimbatore, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish! The hospitality of the entire team was nothing short of exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. They truly made me feel at home, and their genuine care for their guests is evident in every interaction.
One of the standout features of the meal was the very big banana leaf they served the food on—it added such an authentic and traditional touch to the dining experience. The variety of chutneys they offered was incredible, each one bursting with unique flavors. The vara milagai coconut chutney, in particular, was a revelation—spicy, tangy, and utterly addictive! It paired perfectly with everything on the leaf.
The palak keerai poori was another highlight—crispy, flavorful, and so well-made that I couldn’t stop reaching for more.
And the appam! Served in a special vessel, it was not only visually appealing but also incredibly soft and delicious. The attention to detail in how they presented and served the appam truly elevated the dish.
Overall, Aree Anandhas is a gem of a restaurant that beautifully combines authentic flavors, thoughtful presentation, and heartfelt hospitality. I cannot recommend it enough and look forward to returning soon for another unforgettable meal.
Thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful experience!
