swaad nation nanganallur — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Date of visit: Dec 24th We ordered north Indian thali and Rajasthani thali. Portions were negligible. Literally, 3 tbsp of Dal, 2 tbsp of sabzi. If you were thinking that maybe the thali was unlimited, it was not. Misinterpreted menu. Phulka roti we ordered was actually served as tandoori roti. Unavailability of speciality dishes . The Dal bati churma in any Rajasthani thali is most popular. We didn't get any churma as it was unavailable. So instead it was replaced by suji Ka halwa. Which wasn't even properly explained while we were served. We had to call upon the manager after we realised how inadequate bathe thali seemed compared to the listed menu. The appetizer soup was extremely spicy. They claimed it was hot and sour soup and therefore spice should be expected, but it was obvious that red chilli powder had been added as an after thought and was not properly cooked or mixed. Hospitality was non existent. ACs were in place but were not turned on or even offered. Waiters and floor manager had to be chased down for queries.

While the food was good and ambience of the place was nice and the interiors well decorated, the food portions did not do justice to the price. And the unfriendly staff didn't help...

We'd been to the restaurant tdae for dinner. The interiors are done tastefully and the restaurant is very spacious. The food tasted good but not extraordinary. The service was good ,it would be better if the servers communicate in English / Tamil fluently. They switch to Hindi very quickly. We'd ordered 🍅 soup, cheese paneer Tikka, Gobi fried rice,lacha paratha ,Malai kofta and virgin mojito. The Malai kofta was the priciest @295. I felt there wasn't anything extraordinary for the price. The lacha paratha was good. Towards the end the servers weren't very attentive / didn't respond quickly to our needs.
