Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Chennai. Surprised how this place isn't that popular when compared to other eateries similar to it. Anyways, we found this place in Zomato and decided to give it a try in spite of the high prices. But boy, wasn't it worth the price!? So, we started off with the complimentary breads which in itself was delicious. We ordered the soup of the day, which was a Cream of Carrot soup which was absolutely delicious and creamy. It had a unique taste and was easily the best when compared to all other carrot soups I've had. The garlic bread with pesto and sun dried tomatoes was such a delicious starter. It was almost on par with any good pizza that u would get in Chennai. The chicken nuggets and sauteed mushrooms and artichokes were also good and came in sufficient quantities. However the standout starter should be the fried mozzarella and arancini balls served with onion rings and the chicken bruschetta. Easily the best bruschetta anywhere in Chennai and the mozzarella cheese was so soft , tender and fresh. Completely impressed with everything we had till now, we moved on to the main course. Although many places in Chennai have ravioli in their menu, most of those say they're out of ravioli when we order. So it's been a long time craving and luckily, this place had it. And wow, it was so delicious that we even thought of having two more raviolis instead of desserts. It was that good and the sauce was absolutely gorgeous. We got both the chicken and spinach with ricotta ravioli and both of those were in tough competition with each other. The formaggi pizza was handmade and had a thin crust which was top notch too. The surf and turf with prawns and beef was a bit disappointing because the prawns were slightly overcooked but the beef medallions more than made up for it. The cook on the beef was perfect and went well with the condiments and the sauce. The desserts were more impressive and stumped us. We finished the first set of desserts in record time of less than 2 minutes. It was so gorgeous that we literally fought with each other to complete it. The signature mousse and panacotta was delicious and the chocolate fudge and tiramisu was outstanding. The hot chocolate was a big let down and that's the only thing which was of mediocre taste in our entire lunch. But still, I'd definitely give it 5stars coz of the Ambience and the taste and quality of food. Simply amazing and one of the hidden...

TL;DR - Great ambience, super friendly staff, delicious Italian fair by chef Saurabh. Don’t miss out on the specials! Must try for Italian food lovers and special occasions.

We love Italian food and came across Toscano while in the area. It was noticeable due it’s European decor from the outside. We went for dinner around 7pm on Friday evening and it was nearly empty. Pandemic and Diwali must have affected the number of customers.

They have taken care of safety and sanitisation really well. The usual temperature check and sanitisation is done at the entrance. The cutlery is packed in paper that customers have to open themselves. Staff wear all the protective gear.

That aside, the ambience is good. We sat on the couches and it was comfortable. Atmospheric lighting with tasteful furnishings create a perfect environment for enjoyable meal. I love the classic English music being played that brought back my college memories, specifically “The Joker” by Steve Miller Band ;)

We had read all good things about their pizzas so had to get one. We ordered for Bismarck pizza which has Smoked ham, Pepperoni, pesto chicken, mushrooms, onions & bullseye egg. The pork belly dish on the specials menu caught our eye and we couldn’t let it pass so ordered that one too and a Basil Orange drink to refresh ourselves. The pizza was fantastic, perfectly toasty crust and well balanced combination of sauce, cheese and toppings. The pork belly was juicy, succulent and delicious! The crispy bit of bacon with the melt-in-mouth pork belly was a great combo.

The service was courteous, Gokul made sure that everything was to our liking. When we complimented the pork belly he called the chef to meet us at the table. Chef Saurabh was delighted to hear our compliments and mentioned that he got the pork from Belgium for the specials. There are only few people who go for specials and only stick to pizzas or pastas. They are going to have turkey for the entire week of thanksgiving. We would highly recommend giving the specials a try.

Finally, we hadn’t ordered for dessert but Gokul got us a scrumptious walnut cake with a lovely Happy Diwali message :)

The bill came with the sanitizer and surface disinfectant for safety. Everything together costed us Rs. 2,581 including GST and service charges which is reasonable for the ingredients, taste, ambience and service. We will make sure to visit again for that turkey during...

We visited the restaurant on a Friday afternoon and we were a people of 10. We got seated quickly.

The buffet was promoted heavily but we chose to go alacarte as the options in buffet was limited and doesn't look like worth the price quoted which is 999+tax

Food was ok overall. The pizaas were really good

Cons: They brought all food at once and since we have ordered a lot and since the food would become cold we were forced to eat faat and lot the joy of whole experience of eating.

But the real bad for me is

Zomato Delight offer - we had a 25% discount from zomato pro. But was informed that can be applied for only alacarte and buffet they can only give 15% which has never happened to me, the places we have visited so far consider both the same .

2.Attitude -They do come and ask for feedback and we told them one suggestion we have from our end is,you could have spaced out and given the foods as it would have made it easier to eat. They said that's why we insist to take buffets as it would give you time to eat. I found this response very weird and not a constructive one as it look like the only point is they want to promote buffet as it make the service easier if you are asking for feedback and really want to improve the quality of service you should hear their pain points see how you can improve it.A one word assurance of Sure, thanks for bringing this to our notice we will discuss and see how we can improve this would have suffice. Please don't ask for feedback if you don't want to improve .It's a waste of time for both.

3.Lack of Customer Friendliness: One starter we ordered a squid starter was not appetising at all,the team felt it's very raw and the smell is not pleasing and hence we couldn't eat. They simply took it back there was no enquiry of asking for a replacement or even removing from the bill or even not an acknowledgement from chef or anyone. This was a real shocker as very small restaurants too today extend these courtesies to their customers.

A restaurant who proudly describe themselves as a speciality and an zomato award winning restaurant ,I found this behavior shocking ..

All in all I would skip thos in future and couldn't recommend to this any one top because at the end of the day whats makes a memorable experience is not just the food but the whole package and see a...

Visited the restaurant a couple of times- with my wife the first time and with my friends the next time. The place suits both the occasions. Great garlic bread and Pizzas. Loved the roasted pumpkin soup and the silky broccoli soup on the respective days- both were the soup of the days of the respective days. The mozzarella was fresh and top notch- in the salad and on the pizza. The desserts are artfully plated. Service is quite pleasant and mostly fast, but is it worth the flat 10% they add on the bill? We’ll I had no reason to ask them to take it off my bill as service was fine, but not elated about it either. The first time if not for the included SCR, I’d have anyway ended tipping about 3% and the second time about 2% as we were group of 7 with a bill of over 12k. Adopting the US tipping culture blindly- nah, not good. If so, do you get waited like in the US? Nope, not from what I’ve heard. On the down sides- the salads- felt they don’t really know what goes where. If you order the 3 or 4 salads on the menu, the chances are that you can’t distinguish them on your table. And who would place a bottle of ketchup the first thing on your table in an Italian restaurant!! 🤌 The comment on not knowing what goes where- another example is that of having sprouts on dessert- well they have some nice sprouts and I felt they’re overusing it in more than the necessary dishes. The pesto what I got as sides for a complimentary bread platter felt out of this world. But the pesto pasta (or pasta Genovese as they call it- not that it took me to Genoa) wasn’t that impressive- fusilli reason’s pesto pasta does a more flavourful job I felt. On the deserts- crème brûlée was just ok. Mango panna cotta felt more jelly-ish that I’m used to. The Tiramisu with the coffee ice cream were a treat to see and eat as well. The New York cheese cake- 4/5, didn’t feel it super fresh. May have nitpicked a lot of small stuff, but paying for premium deserves such service. But over all, had a good time both the times with no major problems.
