4.5 🌟Do you want to try South East Asian cuisine in a very chilled out place?⁉Do you? Then come straight to THE PLACE NAMED “NASI & MEE”.⬅ Visited with a friend for a Sunday Lunch.
Location & Ambience: On the 1st floor of Belgium Consulate Building on KNK Road. Sign can be easily missed as big trees almost cover it (I had 😧). Now coming to the ambience... OH GOD!! An absolute inviting atmosphere.. It is like, come inside grab a chair n start feeling at home.. It’s perfect for every occasion (OK, not for the strictly official one). It’s so COOL..I like everything here from comfortable sitting arrangement by the glass wall❤ (which allow to have lunch in natural light), to those hanging plants, nice lighting.. Advance table booking is suggested as it’s not a very big place, and on Sunday afternoon I have seen a queue of 15-20 people waiting.. They have valet parking. So NO WORRY for PARKING.🅿
Food: On our hunt on Asian cuisine we zeroed at, Malaysian Chicken Satay, Mixed Garlic Butter Fried Rice and Kung Pao Chicken (was on our have to taste it list).
· Malaysian Chicken Satay: Grilled Chicken Skewers (6 pieces) served with a orange colour dip & salsa. Juicy pieces of chicken taste good with salsa. I didn’t like the dip, tasted only once.
· Mixed Garlic Butter Fried Rice: A pleasant smokey flavoured rice with handful of chicken, prawn and veggies. Both Garlic and Butter flavour balanced nicely. But personally, I would like have a stronger garlic flavour in it. Or else, it is fine. Portions are good. Intially we planned to order 2 but tha server informed us that 1 portion is enough for 2 people.
· Kung Pao Chicken: Star of the afternoon..👌 Soft, succulent chicken pieces cooked in mildly sweet sauce with capsicum, peanut and topped with chopped green onion. To me, a must try & keep trying dish.. Lip smacking.🙌
Staff: While placing order I casually asked, how much time it will take to serve the food? The stuff informed about 15-20 minutes. Then after sometime he served the main course instead of starter. When enquired about the reason, the server answered as I asked about the serving time he thought I am hungry and as starter is on grill, it will take some time. Hence, he served the main course. Such a caring attitude!!!!👏 Can you expect more???? Yes, They are so friendly.. More than 5🌟 for their hospitality. Sorry I missed to notice his name. But a big thumbs up for you.👍
VFM: We paid 1043/-(including GST & Service Tax). Considering the food and service we got its absolute VFM to “MEE”.
PS: Three Sauce/chanteys were there on table. That spicy one with chopped garlic, onion, chilly was mouth watering. You can consider selling it separately. One customer is on board already.
A DEFINITE RECOMMENDED PLACE TO TRY MALAYSIAN/ SINGAPUR CUISIN. Planning to visit...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Nasi and Mee Restaurant, and I must say that it was a delightful experience from start to finish. This restaurant offers a diverse menu of Asian cuisine, and the dishes I tried, including the Mee Goreng, Dim Sum, and Singapore Chicken Rice, were absolutely delicious.
Let's start with the Mee Goreng, a classic Malaysian stir-fried noodle dish. The Mee Goreng at Nasi and Mee Restaurant was bursting with flavors. The noodles were perfectly cooked and had a nice chewiness to them. The dish was generously packed with tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and aromatic spices. The balance of sweet, savory, and slightly spicy flavors was spot-on, making it an absolute delight to eat.
The Dim Sum at Nasi and Mee Restaurant was also a highlight of my dining experience. The selection of bite-sized delicacies was extensive, and each item was meticulously prepared. The dumplings were perfectly steamed, with thin, delicate wrappers encasing flavorful fillings. From the juicy dumplings to the delectable shrimp , every bite was a delightful explosion of flavors and textures. The dim sum alone would be worth a visit to this restaurant.
Next, the Singapore Chicken Rice at Nasi and Mee Restaurant was a true winner. The chicken was tender, moist, and flavorful, with a beautifully smooth texture. The rice, cooked in a flavorful broth, was fragrant and had a lovely hint of ginger and garlic. The accompanying chili sauce and dark soy sauce complemented the dish perfectly, adding an extra layer of flavor and spiciness. It was a satisfying and comforting dish that truly captured the essence of Singaporean cuisine.
In addition to the fantastic food, the ambiance of Nasi and Mee Restaurant was warm and inviting. The decor had a contemporary yet cozy feel, and the attentive staff made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or on your own, this restaurant provides a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall experience.
In conclusion, Nasi and Mee Restaurant is a gem when it comes to Asian cuisine. The Mee Goreng, Dim Sum, and Singapore Chicken Rice were all outstanding in taste, presentation, and authenticity. The restaurant's ambiance and attentive service further contribute to a memorable dining experience. If you're in search of flavorsome Asian dishes with a touch of culinary expertise, Nasi and Mee Restaurant should be on your list of must-visit...
Read moreOur first time visit to this place with family was really a memorable one. Always wanted to visit this place which never happened until the new years eve. Took around 15 mins to get us seated, the ambience was pretty interesting, it was stylish and modern. Even the tables and the chairs had a rustic look which was quite fascinating . It's located in KNK road and pretty easy to find. Decent parking spaces for bikes and cars alike . Cars can be parked on the streets and bikes had enough space before the restaurant. Located in the 1st floor this place is a full blown Asian cuisine. The service was quick and the food tasted absolutely delicious. The difficult part was to remember names of the dishes so the pics may be of some help. The only food I could recollect was the New York sushi which I feel was very close to the authentic taste that I tasted in the US. Sushi in Chennai is generally expensive but 450 was definitely worth it. It comes with the standard wasabi and soya sauce. The skewers were awesome, tasted amazing , it was tender and juicy, exactly the way I like. The dumplings were infact the winner of the day, it was hot, had the right amount of spices, felt fresh when u eat it, with the juices pouring out when mixed with the sauces it's truly a great feeling. The soup was little watery I felt, but on enquiry they said that it was supposed to be tasting like that but I had no complaints. We ordered some starters , sushi, some sides along with some main course and dessert. The waiters were friendly and helped us with the orders, surprised to see them talking in Tamil instead of English, it indeed made us more comfortable. My wife especially enjoyed the food and wants this place to be in our go to place anytime we think about Asian cuisine. It's pretty pricy I felt for the dishes, could be little cheaper but considering the location and the expenses I am not surprised. Overall a must go place of you are looking out for...
