Distillery Lucknow — Restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

Visited Distillery on 12/02/2022.

This one star that I've given here is also just beacuse of its interiors and roof top decoration and view. Otherwise, food is below average and drinks are average.

My experience was very dissapointing at distillery Lucknow due to the unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour of the staff towards the customer.

Steward name who attended us is Abhishek Singh. We ordered penne pink sauce pasta and nucleus nachos and drinks.

1)Since nachos didn't have any veggies as told by our steward so we asked him if he could get some veggies added to the nachos, to which he agreed and didn't utter anything else and went away. In the name of vegetables only three small rings of capsicum was visible and nothing else.

When the bill was handed over to me there was an addition of 75 Rs in the name of vegetables which wasn't informed by the steward.

2. Also ,they levied service charge of Rs 219 which was 10% of the bill. I refused to pay the service charge( which the restro can't force you to pay) to which the steward Abhishek Singh said aapko dena to padega hi ye.

These were his exact words. It was such a derogatory statement. I asked him to bring someone from senior management.

His senior came in and showed some whatsapp message on his phone which was regarding service charge. [Just look at the unprofessionalism and audacity of this person to prove his point via a whatsapp message] . There is absolutely no law which compells you to pay service charge and so he finally stopped arguing and removed the service charge.

So the thing is these restaurants should not even try to assume customers to be fools who don't know the government rules...

If you want calm and not so loud music and a great space to enjoy rather having a congested dance floor, then this place is great. When we got in , we were very warmly welcomed at the entrance by a female staff who was very polite and then she assisted us. We had two options to sit in, one in AC or second was roof top. Do visit the place at evening the breeze on 15th floor gives this place it's uniqueness and great vibe. We choosed to sit on roof top, again another waiter assisted us professionally. Sir, had a great knowledge about all dishes.When we looked upon the menu obvious things were expensive as expected but that amount easily justified their suvice and abience.We were craving for Biryani that do and being vegetarian we ordered-"Zafarani Biryani". And I didn't expect it to be great to be honest. The service was quick we were served within minutes, instead of sitting and waiting we went to look around and click great pictures around the cafe. Now coming to the food. I don't want to admit but, being a true veg Biryani fan I have to say that hats off to the chef what a Biryani , the flavours were so authentic that we couldn't tell that this is a modern day restaurant than being an old heritage restaurant. We gulped the biryani which was served with raita and kaadu gravy. It was a less in quantity. We were two and we ate the complete thing easily and were just half full. We visited distillery last night and i feel immense anguish while writing this review. We had the worst lounge experience in the longest time.

The service staff was trying hard to serve the orders promtly but were somehow overworked and hence could not do justice .

Considering covid guidelines the management, suddenly and without any prior information to the guests , just put out the entire lights without making any alternate arrangements at the table. . . When we objected to it ,after a brief argument ,the security was called in , which was just unnecessary as it was all very civil and also a family setting .

One Mr Ravi Kant - the floor manager even went to extent of telling the guests to not come again if they had objections to his behaviour

Ther service charge of 10 percent was levied to the entire bill - against the honorable supreme court guidelines and was removed after our stern objection.

I am not against following the govt norms but i feel this could have been done in a more courteous manner.
