Ishanika Hotel — Hotel in Uttar Pradesh

I stayed in the hotel for four days during my office tour to Lucknow.

Pros: 1- Affordable 2- Super polite staff

Cons: 1- Rooms are of average quality and sometimes missing the most reasonable small amenities. For example, there was no door mat between bathroom and Room and they could not provide it even after multiple requests. And, gave up on my request. 2- Staff is super polite but also seem to be untrained and underpaid. They are mostly quite slow to act.

3- Food is very affordable but very limited number of options available. In fact, I could 100% guess the menu of my next day breakfast buffet in four days. Here are the items - Poori or Paratha or Aloo paratha; Aloo-Mutter sabji or mutter subji, tea ( in Disposal/cup), One sweet ( sabudana or Sewai), Idli and sabhar, and boiled egg. Also two fruits to choose ( Banana Robusta, pappayaa). And, they keep extremely low quantities in the serving pot. You might feel you are last person today.

4- My shower and sprinkle was not functioning properly. Phone cord was also not working properly. And, noone bothered even after many complaints.

5- Location is little off ( 100-150 mtrs) the main highway that I find good. The hotel cannot arrange you the cab. They might give some number of the Service provider who will charge you heavy amount.

6-Carelessness: I received a call from Hotel reception when I was away for work with the request of opening my room to attend some plumbing work at the bathroom. After I came back in the evening, the issue was unknown to me till then as I did not use the facility, was still pending to be resolved. Also, I found my room wide open, my luggage kept in a corner without anyone there. Nothing was missing but noone was there. I found it very disturbing! Yeah I'm rating as 5 Star!! I have stayed for a long period of almost more than a month in this hotel. Hotel is quite impressive amongst the other budget hotels in the same class. I would say hotel has the potential to be classified 3 star. As of budget hotel, it has Nice lobby, good rooms etc. Food, Indian food is just superb but somewhere Chinese food could be better. Staff is really nice and helpful, Vikas was the champion for me throughout my stay. But myself being as a hotelier, my observations for the Management team is that you should train more to your staff and also start focusing on customer satisfaction. You as an management should make feel to guest that you do care for your customers.

There are many issues that we faced in rooms, especially on last days AC failure was the horrible experience. As entire hotel was almost shut and being as a long stayed guests my room was the only one occupied in the hotel, you should have atleast arranged my sleep to be comfortable either that needs any other hotel reservations. I think being as a long stayed for month I would have expect this that the management should care. But they're like we can't do anything on this. For this only we had to checkout a week earlier than our stay.

Otherwise everything was nice. Hope the management will take feedback positively and will focus more on customers...

Hotel Ishanika is located on Amar Shaheed Path, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar. It is a mid-range hotel and suitable for various events like birthday party, engagement ceremony etc. The entrance of the hotel is below the flyover and if someone coming from flyover side on Shaheed path road needs to keep in mind to take a cut. On the positive side the hotel building is visible from far and can be easily located using google maps. The reception area is very big and has spacious sofas add to the décor and beauty of the hotel. One thing which is very disappointing is that lifts of the hotels are very small and at a time only 3 people can stand comfortably which is a kind of disappointment. Although hotel has two lifts but still it increased the waiting time for guests and it feels claustrophobic while standing inside the lifts. The banquet hall is on the fifth floor of the building and hall is spacious enough to accommodate 20-30 people for small functions and for more than that it may feel over-crowded. Good thing is that lunch area is outside and it gives beautiful view of the city where one can eat while standing and enjoy the food.
