Madras restaurant is situated just about 50 m from Gandhi Ashram which is on main road in Hazratganj Lucknow. The restaurant is open all days from morning to evening to dine in and food parcel. The restaurant caters to mainly south indian dishes which can be had from breakfast till dinner. But in lunch time north Indian thali is also available. Selected Chinese dishes can also be ordered . The dishes are freshly prepared, genuine and served without much waiting time . Two persons can have their food between 200/- to 400/-. The seating arrangement is comfortable. Being properly ventilated the sitting area is odour free. The management has maintained the hygiene. Also the environment is peaceful and without any noise pollution. There is no tipping system as the payment is to be made directly on cash counter managed by owners. Equipped with toilet it has regular customers base. The writer happens to be one of them. May be due to winters I did not notice Manu customers when I visited last. The management maintains the service and food quality well. We ordered Medu vada, Madras special masala dosa, rava masala, and onion uttapam.If all the onion uttapamwas better.The taste potato masala dosa was not that authentic so did not like the taste.
Sambhar and chutney taste was ok, watery.
Medu vadas were oily looked like they deep fried it again to serve hot.
Overall, ok.
