The Kerala Cafe — Restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

Okay so I USED TO love this place. I repeat 'USED TO' but todays visit cleared all my mental fog. This place is nothing like it used to be a couple of years ago. They have started charging more now for every single dish you order. Even the rise in prices were acceptable IF the quality and taste were retained. Food was pathetic. We ordered Masala Dosa wherein the Dosa seemed to have reduced in size and Sambhar was nothing more than thick curry. Our other dish was a combo of Veg Fried Rice with Veg Manchurian which was terrible. We were 3 people and we kept forcing each other to take more because none of us was interested in eating that food whereas there was a time when we used to snatch from each others plate. Now you can imagine the degrading in the taste. We were not even given an option of chosing plain water, we had to buy a plastic bottle worth Rs. 20. While leaving we were served some Saunf and Sugar Candy in a super dirty steel tray. I am attaching a small video clip and you all can see for yourself how casually they take their visitors by serving age old mouth freshners. Restaurant Management is REQUESTED not to remove any of the staff if they read this review but train them and take...

Though Bengali I am an authentic south indian food lover...while on your to this beautiful city I came across this restaurant while staying at Hazratganj... I came at early morning but the restaurant was closed.. I again came on evening...while the outside road had huge crowd it is not that much crowded...I ordered an Mixed Uttapam...the taste is as bad as one could describe ..the vegetables were raw...the sambar is thick curry taste same as like chicken or mutton curry...the coconut chutney also very bad...I just saying to myself that I have come from such a long distance just to taste this ... I never recommend this to anyone...you people who are seeing my post never go there...they are just proving worst...

Nearest from royal cafe.. just opposite side and inside a gully.. behind the Giani icecream...

Google maps can confuse you with the location so avoid taking the directions.

Coming to the food, it was Amazing.. 5/5

Always go for dosas and uttapams for a safe side and good taste.. sambhar and chutney was also fresh and yum..😋

Service was really good and the rates were reasonable as well as pocket friendly..

The exterior and the location might be a bit unhygienic but interior is well maintained...

A must must visit place to satisfy your cravings...
