Great view but unpalatable food . Yes! We went to a famous cafe in Rajpur, enjoyed cool breeze in their terrace area had a muh full of strong cold coffee. P.S That's how we like it, but when it came to the food, well continue reading. . A mexican veg wrap, cheese sandwich, white sauce pasta, veg noodles and crunchy Chinese salad(Wai Wai & coleslaw). @chhayacafedoon . Instant regret! Veg wrap was unbelievably mexican stuffing inside a roti. Yes! a roti. Cheese sandwich was bread roasted in butter with cheese inside. We had deliberately asked the staff whether it had veggies inside. Yes! They said. Noodles were okayish and salad was a new taste some people would like. Now the pasta. Each of us(4 people) had few bites of pasta which had a hint of pickle taste for inexplicable reasons and that was it for us. After paying a handsome amount for the food we had to leave we all had something funny going on in our stomach for hours after that. . . Food: 6/10 Drinks: 8/10 (we just tried coffee) Ambiance: 8/10 . For what it's worth(view) just have a coffee and stay away from the food. We would recommend the staff to either carry on with their decor business or atleast put some efforts into the kitchen and not just exploit the view...
Read moreI have been to this place many times and I find that there's always something missing, though the location of the cafe is great but the food isn’t that. This place is located on an uphill road and parking is not available; one may have to park along the roadside given the fact that the road is narrow; hence parking is a tedious task here.
There is ample of seating space available with a variety of chairs and couches, both indoor and outdoor spaces available. The outdoor view is splendid and one can enjoy lush mountainous view.
The theme of the cafe is cool with a designated area for reading books. One can spend their time blissfully inside it.
Now coming to food which I consider an important parameter to review a place, it isn’t that great, be it dimsums, veg noodle, white sause chicken pasta, all of the items were not promising. The dimsums were oily so was the pasta. The worst was their taco; it was literally plain chapati with kidney beans inside. The other dishes we order pathetic too and this cafe is not even value for money.
If someone is just going for the view and is new to Dehradun, they can try out this place. But if one is expecting quality food this place is not...
Read moreThis place has always been my favourite. While you enter you cannot tell what this place has to offer. While crossing the isle and entering the cafe, all you see are small green planters hanging, thats gives a cozy feeling of home. Cafe is well decorated and has a beautiful view from inside. They have a open terrace sitting also which opens it to the Rajpur hills. The staff is sweet and is mostly run by women. They serve all type of baked stuff and now days also few south Indian delicacies like Dosa and idli. The food is yummy and and you can smell that home cooked fragrance in them and is totally affordable and pocket friendly. The desserts are must try and can never forget to order pancakes. This cozy place has peaceful ambiance as its little away from the road. I really love how they have incorporated greenery and plants in the decor. It is the best place to sit and relax and read a book in a corner with a picturesque windows in front of you. The warmth of this place will make you want to...
