I recently visited Tat Cafe in Rishikesh, hoping to find a cozy spot to relax, enjoy a meal, and get some work done on my laptop. However, my experience at this cafe left me extremely disappointed and frustrated.
Upon entering the cafe, I sat down at a table and took out my laptop, assuming it would be acceptable since there were no signs or staff members informing me otherwise.
After finishing my meal, a member of the staff approached me and rather abruptly informed me that laptops were not allowed in the cafe. I was taken aback by this unexpected rule enforcement, especially considering that I had been using my laptop openly even before ordering. I politely mentioned that it would have been helpful to know about this policy before I ordered, as it would have saved both their time and mine. Unfortunately, their response was far from accommodating or understanding. The cafe was also empty.
The staff's lack of transparency and poor communication left a sour taste in my mouth. It felt like they had deliberately chosen not to inform me until I had already spent my time and money at the cafe. If such a rule exists, it should be prominently displayed or clearly communicated to customers upon arrival.
As a customer, I believe that a cafe should be a welcoming space for patrons to relax, work, or socialize. Tat Cafe's laptop policy contradicts this notion and fails to consider the needs of individuals who seek a comfortable environment to utilize their devices while enjoying a meal or a cup of coffee.
While the cafe itself has potential, the unfriendly and unwelcoming treatment I received overshadowed any positives. I left Tat Cafe feeling frustrated and unappreciated as a customer.
In the future, I would urge the management of Tat Cafe to clearly communicate their policies to customers upfront, both online and in-store. This would help prevent misunderstandings and ensure that patrons have a pleasant experience from...
Read moreMoth eaten chairs, old cushions, bad food and an absolutely irresponsible and insensitive serving staff. The food was horrible. There were dead moths on the table that we had to repeatedly asked them to clean. There was a dog at the restaurant and inspite of the pet being there the staff was bursting crackers. Food was lousy. Waiting time was long. FSSAI needs to revoke their license for the unhygienic place. To add a non receptive manager/ owner who justifies his old bad decor and lousy food and insensitive staff. And for the record the dog was not a stray dog. It was a thorough bred labrador. And he also ought to remember people generally like to capture good memories and not bad ones. Moth eaten cushions and bad seating cushions clearly will not find a place in my phone's memory.as you enter and make your way to the balcony or the seating area that overlooks the Ganges just before you enter you will see a sofa seating arrangement with green cushions. The green cushions has a huge hole made by I'm guessing moths, the manager could provide insights on which insect that might be.And for other real reviews please visit Zomato reviews too. I would be uploaded a screenshot but the reviews praising their food and service (hope you get the sarcasm) are too many. So please visit Zomato reviews also before setting foot...
Read moreWe first stumbled upon Tat cafe while looking for Beatles Cafe which is right next to it. Since we were on a leisurely trip to Rishikesh we decided to try it out. We had to leave out footwear outside before entering the seating area. The cafe itself is neither big nor small but quaint with just enough seating space. The view is stunning - if you are lucky enough to get it, you will find yourself sitting on cushy pillows on a deck overlooking the Ganges and you dine surrounded by the sights and sounds of the gushing river. The view is breathtaking at any time during the day. The food here is really good. We recommend their “lemonana”, sandwiches, and hand cut fries. Everything is made with health in mind and you won’t find anything lacking. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. They also have their own fan club of regular tourists. Except when it is excessively crowded, you can sit here at leisure. A must have experience when you are at Rishikesh - great food, a thoughtfully put together menu, great service, and unparalleled views. A fantastic combination. The only caveat is that it is not senior citizen friendly so perhaps you could take your parents to an eatery that does not need climbing up and down some flights of stairs to...
