Memories from a self driven month long vacation across #Uttarakhand in #Feb2020..
Probably, the only cafe in India to be themed on an international legendary band - a go to destination for anyone visiting #Rishikesh - the view of the #Ganges is stunning to say the least - the whole cafe has a laid back ambience which attracts a lot of visitors (specially foreign tourists) - a lot of #Beatles memorabilia is available for viewing throughout the cafe - feels like a lot of nostalgia is associated with the space - it's kind of walking into the past.. Even the menu card is kind of an encyclopaedia about the band's association with Rishikesh.. This place currently is also known as #DelmarCafe - one has to walk up or down a few stairs from the main road to reach the cafe - only serves you #vegan delicacies though.. Pricing is slightly on the higher side of the spectrum but service seemed to be indefinitely slow..
I just had my share of #desserts (that's what I am forced to do generally whenever I walk into a vegan cafe 😅) and fortunately - they were excellent..
#GordonRamsaysHotBananas - Caramelised Banana chunks served in chilled coconut milk with Vanilla icecream - I had no clue that bananas can be so delish untill I tasted this one - too good to be true.. 😍
#ClassicChocolateCrepe was pure chocogasm for a chocoholic like me.. The soft Chocolate Crepe was absolute ecstasy for my tastebuds.. 😍

My humble two cents: #MUSTVISIT (if you haven't already) 🤝

Read moreOn my recent visit to Rishikesh, I took note of 3-4 café and Beatles Café was at the top of my list. The location is a bit hard to find by yourself but it’s worth climbing down all those steps of Tapovan Ghat to reach a magnificent terrace with the view of Ganges. You will find many tourists from different parts of the world and gives you a sense of freedom and cultural diversity. Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh is full of Om T-shirts and old-coin vendors. As one half of India’s “National Heritage Cities”, Rishikesh is like someone’s half-remembered dream about an ideal holy place, with the Ganga flowing through it and the smoke from local charas hovering above.
The eateries, however, look firmly towards the rest of the world, with offerings ranging from Iranian breakfast to “authentic” Madras filter coffee, and about 250 bakeries in between, each declaring itself to be “German Bakery”. In addition to food, the cafes of Rishikesh also do a brisk trade in Beatles nostalgia.
The story of the restaurant colloquially called the Beatles Cafe is a particular lesson in the power of a good brand. The cafe, which is actually named 60’s Cafe or 60’s Cafe Delmar, is located on Paidal Marg, near Laxman Jhula. This 60s-themed joint with Beatles photos offers cafe fare and a terrace with dramatic views of Ganga. The peaceful ambiance is so stunning and cool, and the music captivates you and takes you back to the era of the ’60s. The food tasted awesome and the portion size was more than I expected. Pop in if...
