Hello Readers, Hope you all are having good appetite and excellently working digestive system while reading this review. "Tirupati" is one of the oldest resturant in Dehradun. They serve authentic south Indian food but also very tasty North Indian, continental, Chinese food. This is one restaurants of the initial resturant which serve sizzlers in doon. (Tell me if u know other oldy-goldy restaurant, I am aware of this only). I am asking because they do not serve sizzler all the time. Its the subject matter of availability. So I need to know backup.
I have tried their American choupsey which was awesome with a lots of pineapple, balanced flavour of sweetness. Chinese choupsey is fine but I don't like the Chinese choupsey itself because it's neither sweet nor spicy and they made it authentically nice.
Their malai kofta is "100 mein se 200" type. Very soft paneer stuffed kofta with cashew gravy and tossed dry fruits in the gravy is like cherry on the cake. They serve 4 koftas in one plate. Club it with their dal makhni and butter Naan. I am sure you will cherish ur meal and miss me.
South Indian lovers try their lemon rice, it's yummy and quantity is also very good. Though their uttapam, rava dosa and everything is nice. But my personal recommendation is for lemon rice. Perfectly sour, tossed with proper ingredients of South Indian tadka and the most important the good quality of rice. Don't forget to capture the vibrant yellow colour of this cuisine because I forgot to do so. As I was not able to control my temptation of having it. Moreover if you cannot finish it, you can request them to pack the leftover. Make sure you don't mess it up. Overall ambiance of the resturant is also Good. It's clean and hygienic. They are open of sitting and taking proper hygiene measure in the light of covid 19. The only thing which I don't like and make me hold one star is the serving staff is too much prompt to take ur utensils off. Means sometimes I have to tell them that I haven't finished yet. It's hilarious when I am in good mood but annoying when my mood is not so light. (Aisa toh mummy tab karti hai jab unko jaldi jaldi bartan dhone/dhulwane hote hai. Like jaldi kha lo bartan dhul jayenge.) LOL. But I can compromise this because of the delicious food they serve. Filter...
Read moreTirupati Restaurant is a well-known spot in Dehradun for those craving authentic South Indian food. While it’s a good option for a quick and budget-friendly meal, there are a few areas where it could improve to make the dining experience more enjoyable.
Ambiance: The restaurant has a simple, no-frills ambiance. It’s not a fancy place by any means, but it’s functional and comfortable enough for a casual meal. However, the interiors could use a bit of an update as they feel slightly dated. The seating is basic, and during peak hours, it can get crowded, making it feel a bit cramped.
Food: The food at Tirupati is decent, but not extraordinary. I tried the Masala Dosa and Idli Sambhar, and while both were tasty, they lacked the authenticity and bold flavors I was hoping for. The dosa was crispy, but the filling could have been more flavorful. The Sambhar was mild and didn’t have the depth of flavor I expect from traditional South Indian cuisine.
The Vada was crispy on the outside but slightly dry on the inside. On the plus side, the portion sizes were generous, and the prices are affordable, making it a good choice for budget-conscious diners.
Service: The service was average. The staff is polite, but the restaurant seemed understaffed when we visited, and it took a while for our order to arrive. They seemed overwhelmed, especially during busy hours, which led to delays in both serving food and clearing tables.
Cleanliness: Cleanliness is one area where Tirupati could improve. While the dining area was generally clean, the tables were not wiped down promptly after the previous guests left, and the washroom facilities were in need of better maintenance.
Value for Money: Tirupati Restaurant offers decent food at very reasonable prices, making it a good option for a quick and affordable South Indian meal. However, the overall experience, including ambiance and service, felt somewhat lacking for me to rate it higher.
Overall Experience: Tirupati Restaurant is a decent choice if you're craving South Indian food in Dehradun and don’t mind a basic, no-frills dining experience. While the food is satisfactory and the prices are budget-friendly, there’s room for improvement in terms of service and ambiance. It’s a good place for a casual meal, but don’t expect anything...
Read moreTirupati Balaji Multi Cuisine Restaurant offers a spacious environment adorned with traditional South Indian artifacts, creating an inviting and authentic atmosphere. Despite its popularity, we found the seating to be adequate, with a decent number of seats occupied during our visit. The menu is elaborate, featuring a wide range of dishes from Chinese, North Indian, and South Indian cuisines, along with snacks like French fries, sandwiches, and honey chilli potatoes. They also offer sizzlers and pizzas. We began our meal with buttermilk, which had the perfect blend of kadi patta, chili, rai tadka, and salt. For the main course, we ordered a Masala Dosa, South Indian Thali, Paper Masala Dosa, and Dahi Idli. The masala in the dosa was overly salty, but the waiter was courteous enough to offer a replacement had we mentioned it earlier. The Paper Masala Dosa was impressively large, nearly 3 feet long, and ample for three people to share. The South Indian Thali, however, was somewhat disappointing. The puri was unusually large, the sambar had a sweet taste that did not appeal to our palate, and overall, it did not meet our expectations. Service was a bit slow on our visit, as it took some time for the food to be served. However, the staff was polite and responsive. The portion sizes are generous, so it’s wise to be mindful when ordering. Parking can be an issue on crowded days. Fortunately, we found a spot in the lane next to the restaurant. Overall, our experience at Tirupati Balaji Multi Cuisine Restaurant was mixed. While the ambiance and some dishes were enjoyable, others fell short of...
