Cafe Destination — Restaurant in West Bengal

Today was an absolute blast at the most happening café in Chandannagar, Cafe Destination! We indulged in an epic carrom match and a feast that left us all satisfied. This café, with its stunning graffiti, is truly a sight to behold—I’ve rarely seen anything like it.

What captivated me the most was the incredible graffiti dedicated to Colonel Niladri Sarkar, the unforgettable detective character from Syed Mustafa Siraj’s literary works. A whole wall in the café is adorned with this beautiful depiction, paying homage to one of Bengali literature’s finest creations.

It’s worth mentioning that Colonel Niladri Sarkar had a second home in Chandannagar, often playing a crucial role in the stories. This house is portrayed as a peaceful retreat where he rejuvenates amidst nature's beauty. The café’s tribute to Bengali literature through this artwork has won my heart.

In addition to the Colonel's mural, the café also features a map of Chandannagar and images of colonial architecture, enriching the overall ambiance.

If you’re visiting with friends, there’s also a lively carrom setup that adds to the fun. Warning: If you defeat your better half in carrom, be prepared to smooth things over yourself—management won’t be able to help you there! 😜😜

Now, let’s talk about the food.

Mocktails: Blueberry Flavored Mojito: A refreshing delight that’s perfect for cooling down.

Mango Bite: A creamy, excellent mocktail that’s simply irresistible.

Starters: Milestone Chicken : The ultimate chicken starter that’s an absolute must-try. Whatever you do, don’t miss out on this! Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce : Large, tender boneless chicken pieces, perfectly tossed in garlic sauce—a stellar starter. Paneer Tikka Pizza: A thin-crust pizza topped generously with flavorful paneer tikka, cooked to perfection. A delightful treat worth every bite.

Main Course : Egg Chicken Fried Rice : This fried rice was cooked flawlessly, filled with tender chicken and egg. The use of premium long-grain rice truly made it stand out.

Chili Chicken : My all-time favorite! This spicy, delicious chili chicken pairs perfectly with fried rice.

To finish, we enjoyed two excellent coffees: Cappuccino and Irish Coffee : Both were flawless, with rich flavors and wonderful aroma.

If you’re ever near Chandannagar, Cafe Destination is a must-visit. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

If you are tired working from home for a long time and want to chill, relax and re-energise you, this is the best place at the heart of Chandannagar.

I casually was passing through the Café and entered to have an experience. The experience was amazing.

The place is cozy and decorated innovatively. You will feel the beauty of Chandannagar as the map of this city has been beautifully drawn on the right wall. You can find the important places to visit here as well!

One can explore gaming activities. As of now, they have a Carrom board, but they want to extend the gaming area as per customer's requirements.

While I entered, I came across Mr. Samrat Halder who take me through the Café and explained what I can avail as per my mood and choice.

Coming to what I loved there about. Everything! I just have fallen in love with the Café! I ordered Fish Finger and Prawn Piri Piri as Starters. Fish Finger was great! Prawn Piri Piri was a bit salty, but yes, the taste was awesome. Apart from that, I asked for the mocktail 'Blue Lagoon'. That was fantastic! Moreover, the quantity was sufficiently enough, which I did not expect at all.

Now the main attraction of the story … you can get Hookah there! Yes, believe me! I tried Seesha with mint flavour and ice as base. Ohhh my God! I was feeling heavenly! I couldn't trust my eyes that I am getting Hookah in a Café, that too in Chandannagar. This has given me goosebumps.

All items available there are quite pocket-friendly. However, you can avail 'Happy Hours', everyday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. You will get one Mocktail free with the one you order, and the free one would be the best one, atleast that's what they have promised me!

The staffs are very cordial, courteous, humble and most importantly, professional. I interacted with Mr. Animesh Singha and asked about the popularity of Hookah among Generation Z and millennials. He has shared me a very interesting fact that people show interest with different flavours of Mocktail and Hookah.

Café Destination has certainly made my evening! I will visit again soon, in their 'Happy Hours'!

I recently visited Cafe Destination and the experience was simply amazing! First things first, the hospitality of the staff is so warm. The ambience and lights add to the mellow warmth of the whole place. And what wonderful decor! The seats are designed in a way to replicate the benches at Strand. With a map of Chandannagar on the walls, and paintings of the strand, the decor surely holds a piece of our heart and our little town. ❤️

Coming to the food, we had the fish fingers, the Peri Peri Pizza, Virgin Mojito and Blue Lagoon for drinks. The fish fingers were somewhat average and very overpriced. But they were surely fresh and crispy, so that's a plus! However, I have had better fish fingers. But the Pizza and the drinks were a Big Win! I didn't know till this day that you find such crispy and cheesy thin crust pizzas in my town. It was spicy and tangy, with the cheese evenly balancing out all the flavors. Definitely a must try, and I can see myself returning again and again for more! The drinks were so refreshing and very well made. They were great palate cleansers and a must try to beat this scorching heat!

All in all, the experience is wonderful, and I'm surely coming back again. While the pizza is gonna be my go-to, I'll surely try out more of their starters to find my favorite here.
