Karim's - Original From Jama Masjid Delhi 6 — Restaurant in West Bengal

As I went through a dinner massacre over this Sodepur outlet of Karim's, I would rate it 0/5.

First, they do some drama that seats were full, but when you go upstairs you will find you've been played. Or may be they know their capacity to serve (later found that many dishes on the menu are not available)!!

Second, the waiters!  Oh gawd they seem to be very busy all the time. But they are not actually. Nobody cares for you or takes the order unless you stand out the table and scream to ask them to take orders. Decor is good but management is worthless. They seem to be untrained.

Third they dont tell you, that mutton dishes not available but serves the chicken counterpart. I saw it's a common complaint from many tables.

Fourth, service is very very slow. And poor. I dont find any reason to give them tips. I ordered borhani, waiter replied only cold drinks available and despite I told to serve it with starters, they did not. Cold drinks were served after a yell and almost at the end of dinner and that too not much cold. Ice was not available.

Fifth, the starters were good. But mutton seekh kababs are found not very hot, seems to be made earlier and then served or due to slow serve speed it was delivered semi cold. The Nalli Nihari was dull as dumb. The roti was not tasty

In short my evening was ruined! And don't go by the photos uploaded by me, they definitely look good but in side my mouth they are just so-so.

With Aminia, Arsalan, Dada Boudi, Hatari, Chowman etc big brands are nearby, I recommend not to...

Today we visited Karim's Sodepur Branch and had an absolutely delightful dining experience. From start to finish, everything — from the food to the service — was top-notch and exceeded all expectations.

We ordered the Tandoori Murgh Tangri, Garlic Naan, Chicken Rara Masala, Kolkata’s Gosht Dum Biryani (Special), and a glass of Masala Coke. Every dish was bursting with flavor and showcased the culinary excellence Karim’s is known for.

The Tandoori Murgh Tangri was perfectly grilled — smoky, tender, and full of spice. The Chicken Rara Masala had a beautifully thick, rich gravy with well-cooked chicken, making it one of the highlights of our meal. The Garlic Naan was soft, aromatic, and a perfect accompaniment to the curries. The Gosht Dum Biryani (Special) was truly outstanding — fragrant, generously portioned, and cooked to perfection with melt-in-the-mouth mutton. The Masala Coke was refreshingly tangy and added a lively, cooling contrast to the rich dishes.

The ambiance was warm, clean, and inviting — ideal for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. A heartfelt shoutout to Mr. Manotosh from the service staff, whose friendly attitude, attention to detail, and courteous service made our experience even more memorable.

The new branch of Karim's original from Jama Masjid is open in Panihati near the Panihati Football ground, Barrackpore Trunk Rd, Sahid Colony, Panihati, Kolkata, West Bengal 700114. Nearest bus stop is Panihati Dhankal. From the moment I entered, the worm and inviting ambiance set the stage for a memorable evening. The interior was too colorful but the space was not so specious. The menu at the restaurant offers a wide variety and we ordered butter naan, masala kulcha, malai kofta and achari chicken tikka, but the quality of food is so good compared to the price. The Taste was very good. The quantity of food is very sufficient. Overall food quality is good and price is little bit high. The Staff was attentive and helpful, guiding me through the menu and making recommendations based on my preference. Their knowledge and passion for the cuisine were good. Overall service and behavior is good. But one area for improvement could be the waiting time for food to be served. Although the staff was friendly and efficient. In conclusion, Karim's Original from Jama masjid, Panihati is a culinary gem for their delicious food. The taste of food is very good. Price is little bit High.
