Saravana bhavan is very well known for itās pathetic service. This outlet is no exception. The management recruits n number of staffs but not even one is available to handle a table. They come fast to take the order, food takes forever to come specially in busy hours and then once your order has arrived the order taker vanishes. If you want to order something more or you need any accompaniments nobody will be there to attend you. The third floor of this restaurant read āfine dineā. This so called fine dine doesnāt have any tissues or spoons or glasses or water jugs on the table. They donāt even as if we want water. We ourself go to service counter and open the tissue box and have to take it. There is absolutely zero service and no courtesy in the staff. Even after complaining to the manager there was no difference. They damn care about guest experience. Coming to the food , the dosas are either half done or burnt. They donāt put any ghee in ghee roast and charge Rs 200 plus taxes for burnt dosa. We ordered Rangoli thali for which the service person just placed it on the table and vanished. Though itās an unlimited thali we never got second serving of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered mini lunch and sweet pongal through swiggy. The delivery person called me and told that sweet pongal was not available, instead they will give me kesari. I told him I'm intolerant to wheat and asked if they have any other sweet. The cashier arrogantly told the delivery person to tell me to either take the kesari or cancel the order. If they don't have some item, they should not list it in swiggy. Since it is the hotel's fault, why should I cancel and pay the cancelation fees? But the delivery person spoke to the manager who agreed to give laddu instead of the sweet pongal. They gave 3 tiny laddus instead of the sweet pongal which is not equivalent in cost or taste. But I didn't want to argue and waste my time as well as keep the delivery person waiting, so I agreed. Even the taste and quality of the meals has dropped compared to the past. I also noted that one of the curries they sent with meals had a piece of chapathi and some rice in it. Not sure...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible experience. Understaffed and over - crowded. The waiters are clearly not interested in giving you a good experience as people keep flooding in through the doors No matter what. We went to the third floor as the second was too busy and it had ac as well. The table we sat in was dirty and we had to call repeatedly to have it cleaned. I nevertheless ended up staining my shirt with some oily residue from some previous diner's food. For what they call a vegetarian restaurant there is hardly any vegetable in anything they make. The only exception is the potato which is everywhere. They can run the kitchen with nothing but rice batter, flour, onions, tomatoes and potatoes.
But I guess that is true for all so called vegetarian restaurants in India. "Carbaurants" would be a better name as that's what they deal...
