A Disappointing Experience
My recent visit to Sea Spices in Palavakkam was unfortunately quite poor, marked by what felt like deceptive practices and incredibly slow, rude service. I went to the restaurant specifically to order the Prawn Tawa Fry from their menu card, only to be told it was unavailable. I then opted for the Prawn Piratal, priced at Rs. 260. To my surprise and frustration, I later noticed multiple Swiggy/Zomato orders for Prawn Tawa Fry being fulfilled. When I questioned the lady manager about this discrepancy, her response was, "Ask the Owner." This suggests a deliberate strategy of making certain dishes exclusively available through delivery platforms, effectively scamming in-house customers who might be looking for those specific items. Beyond this misleading practice, the service was abysmal. I had to wait an unacceptable 25-30 minutes for a single dish. (It would have got delivered to my house in that time if I had ordered on swiggy!) I had to inquire few times before they even began preparing my order. When I finally asked the lady manager about the significant delay, she was rude and unhelpful. I would absolutely not recommend Sea...

Read moreLast week, we went to Kallooram, and we were hoping to go there again. However, when my colleague checked Google Maps, it showed Kallooram as temporarily closed. Another colleague found a nearby restaurant with nice lighting and a good signboard, so we decided to give it a try.
Once there, we ordered soup, but they told us it wasn’t available. We then asked for white rice, and they informed us that a bowl alone would cost ₹60 with small pot of fish curry, which wasn’t great, and later tried the squid dish. Unfortunately, it was disappointing too, served in a small leaf [thonnai] bowl filled with squid heads, which we didn’t eat. The parotta was also a letdown – it was cold, not fresh, and seemed to have been prepared earlier in the evening. Overall, I’d rate the experience a 2.3 out of 5.
One last note: we thought we were being offered a welcome drink, but instead, a guy came to our table with a selection of half-cooked items on display, saying they would fully cook anything we...
