Murugan Idli Shop — Restaurant in Zone 5 Royapuram

Visited this place for dinner before catching our train from Chennai Central, and it turned out to be a convenient and satisfying stop. We ordered the Ghee Masala Dosa and Ghee Onion Rava Dosa.

The Masala Dosa was excellent, crisp, flavorful, and served with four varieties of chutneys that really stood out. The chutneys and sambar tasted fresh and authentic, and the staff kept refilling them without us even asking.

However, the Ghee Onion Rava Dosa was a bit disappointing. While the taste was nice, the shape was completely off, it came in crumbled chunks. Not sure if that’s how they usually serve it or if it just happened in our case, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

The service was impressively quick, and the staff were polite and attentive. We finished much faster than expected, which was helpful since we had a train to catch.

Prices are slightly on the higher side compared to typical South Indian eateries in Bangalore, but considering the food quality and the convenience of its walking distance from the railway station, it's definitely the best option around.

Would recommend this place if you're looking for a good South Indian meal near...

I went this outlet 6 times including today Aug-2019. I have listed pros and cons below.

Pros : 1.Good Vegitarien Food. Not Super..

Cons : Poor Ambience like fish Market.. 2.Arrogant Staff espescially one who in billing. He is cheating as in the way he adding unwated items in bill... I asked for Podi Idly and Podi Dosa , he is added Oil&Podi for Rs.9 extra...Why i need Oil&Podi when iordered for Podi Idly and Podi Dosa...Very poor attitude in selling unwanted items.. 3.People (Travellers) are going here due to unavailability of other hotels nearby, and MIS is taking this as advantage and selling OVERPRICED foods with POOR service. 4.All the six times i had visited, first i asked for Plan Idly and hear the word "Podi idly thaan Irukku"... I surprised where from the batter is comming for Podi Idly and NO for Normal Idly. Murugan Idly Shop shall better change their name as " Murugan PODI IDLY shop" Overall, This outlet is Spoiling the name of Murgan Idly and i wont recommend othet to visit here..

It wasn't a planned visit to this outlet. As we are onto a different location and we were hungry, we opted this. Located conveniently closer to park railway station. And that's the only best part with them. They don't have what u like and they insist you to take what they wish to sell. I mean they push you for expensive items. Everything is chargeable, luckily water is not. Service is too bad. They not even cared to say if any item has extra charge. All are ok quality. Bill payment is also a hectic thing. U need to wait at least 15 mins for someone to attend to your bill. Overall it's a worst experience.

Note to management. U may think Rs. 9 for podi is nothing for u. But not for me. Also 23 rupees for ur vada which we haven't ordered. And i know this review will never make any effect in ur outlet as this outlet is not visited by any regulars. But my 1 star will be read by some.
