It's still a residential neighborhood. The transformation is happening as there are already three restaurants within touching distance of each other. Kites is a Cream Centre clone. Or more realistically, aspires to be. The menu has everything from North Indian to Continental. With Jain options. The one that ensures that the locals flock to the place. When we arrived early, there wasn't much of a crowd. And converting a spacious old residence to a restaurant poses unique challenges. Fitting more than two tables in a room is tough. We went for the Corn and Cheese cigars as starters. Good beginning. They arrive stuck into little shot glasses smothered in a sauce. Crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside. Then onto a Pudina Paratha, an Amritsari Kofta and phulkas. Average. We went to restaurants where the simple paratha can sing. This merely hums. Closing with a kulfi and falooda. Sweet dominates and little else. Subtlety is not one of the restaurant's strengths. When we emerged outside there were crowds waiting. Spending time by taking selfies. If it's close to where you live, it's probably a place you've already been to. But if it's not, you haven't missed much.

Decent ambiance ,I visited on a weekday for lunch so thrilled place was pretty empty . Service was quick ,the staff only converse in Hindi which is a problem if locals visit . Ordered Brocolli n Corn Chowder which was salty but tasty . Starters Corn Kabab - major disappointment ,resembled dry vadas which had no taste of Corn Chimichangas - decent tasting especially when painted with the salsa and sour cream. Mushroom kabab - pick of the starters . Main course Assorted bread basket Paneer Kurchan Vegetable Handi were both Jain options since we had Jain friends in the group Tasted ok . Veg Lasagne served with garlic bread was really good . Loaded with diced Vegetables it was hearty and tasty . We didn't really get tempted with the dessert offerings so skipped . The food felt kind of heavy and didn't really sit well and we all experienced the same. The place is supposedly packed during weekends and during dinner times . Frankly iam surprised

Such a hype for a new restaurant. I personally didn't feel anything new. Ambience is normal like any other North Indian family restaurant. Food is also very normal and not such great. For pure vegetarian people it's a new place to come with family and friends. We had vegetables and lemon soup, sauteed vegetable starter and a sizzler kind of main course. But it didn't come in the sizzler tray, then what's the use. The sauteed vegetable starter was heavily deep fried, which actually shouldn't be. It was actually their waiters fault who didn't mention any thing about deep frying at time of suggestion as it was mentioned to him that one of the family member was on diet. One more starter was ordered, it was like spring roll kind of. That was good. 😇 Anyways as said, it's a family restaurant, And food was all just okay.

I visited Kites, Adyar with my family (4 of us) on a Saturday. Place was good, I could get seat immediately though it was a Saturday. I felt it was little noisy, as the place was crowded added to that was the music playing in the background. We ordered for soup and Starters. Food was good. Main course we ordered for Pastas, Noodles, Mushroom Risotto and Veg Stroganoff. For Quenchers, we ordered for Mango Margarita and Chocolate Milkshake. Both Risotto and Stroganoff were very salty and we couldn’t eat the quantity. By the way, quantity was adequate for one person. Waiter made mess of the dishes as well. He mentioned Veg Stragnoff as Mushroom Risotto. We were served one Chocolate Milkshake as against 2 that we ordered. When we reminded him about 2 orders, he brought the other one. And, this tasted salty. All the 4 of us tasted, it was salty, though the first one was good. Also, we could see the sediment of salt at the bottom of the glass. We called Waiter to inform him, he took it to main person, we could see that he tasted it and his face changed. And after some discussion, he came to us to tell it was coffee and not salt. He left the juice at our table. And, our Waiter told sarcastically that it’s coffee and not salt, and we didn’t know the taste. I told him that I am not that ignorant to not know the difference between coffee and salt. I asked him to take it back and would not mind paying for it. He very reluctantly replaced it with a fresh one. It was surprising that at no time they were apologetic or offer apology, rather they were bent on making it appear that we did not know the taste. Based on my experience, I suggest the Management to change the name to Salts from Kites. And, if anyone has a liking for Salt, please visit this Restaurant, you will be...

Food was good. 3 of us +1 kid went for NYE dinner.. called to book the table they said no booking of table.. it wil be on first come first served basis. Reached the location by 7.15.. and the first q asked.. have u booked ur table at the valet.. as there is a waiting time.. as it we were a Lil prepared for it. Agreed to wait for 40 mins.. as we had already had chat n then came here.. we got the table.. ordered the food. Paneer tikka was good. Zaitooni naan was very good n soft.. the lacha Paratha was very dry.. n the butter Nan was not at all soft. Manchow soup was good. Ordered very less as we weren't hungry and heard the place gets too full by 8.30 so had to come in early.. last min change of plan.

All in one a fair place

Next when it came for settlement of bill.. the amount on bill was around 1148 odd.. my dad kept 1500 went to get the car keys from vallet.. but the change received was only rs 50.. i had presumed my dad kept Rs 1200. But wen i went out and checked wit him to my shock the cashier did not handover the change properly.. I went back n informed the bearer then he checked and returned the cash..

So pls be double cautious with billing...
