Here’s a detailed review of the experience, ambiance, and service.

Paarai Fish Fry: A Must-Try Addition

The exterior was crispy, while the inside remained tender and juicy. This dish is a must-try for anyone who enjoys fried fish, and it pairs excellently with the rice and kuzhambu from the fish meals.

Read moreTaste ,homely but dont think that you can have your kids eat it mainly the Fish kolambu
Negatives: 1.Absolutely it was a sudden success which they dont know how to handle , they are like absolutely clueless about the next step, leave about the next step , just they are forgetting their routine in midst of talking and photo sessions,
for a street side eatery , merely "Kayenthi" as we tamilians famously call once, the Price (ok i can shell out for the taste)
ill tell you i have been to the best reaturant as well as worst in service in my city Chennai (sorry restaurateurs to compare you guys with sundari akka) here i see mere lack of their routine work and forgetting what's the work in front of all the talking among themselves.
And i have to tell you guys please inquire about the Rate /dish before you order, they play a so called wise game if you dont ask back, i ordered 2 rice and 2 prawns, at the end i know very well the Rice cost 40 each and prawns 100 each so its total Rs .280 , i gave Rs.300 to Sundari akka and said what i had, cooly that lady puts it in the galla and walks off, with a simle i said its 402 and 1002 =280 then she without any expression gives back the Rs.20
we give lots of tips and GST when we go to a restaurant thats fine , but the attitude is really mean , i not expecting Customer service in a kaiyenthi like this , but at least you should concentrate on your work which automatically gives a good sense to your customer )
Simply a mess on the waiting time until you give a order and keep reminding him its not gonna happen , the person who had thought this type of marketing should have also thought these poor guys on how to sustain the effort and Mainly work to go forward.(I emphasize that we where there on a Wednesday , there were hardly 3 or 4 customers only for your information)
for me certainly a good taste is eaten by unprofessional behavior, sorry about that they dont know that so we can't...
Read moreHad fish meals, vanjaram fry and prawns fry. Taste wise prawns fry(150₹) was superb, quantity seems less but taste wise it was very good. Fish meals was good, got big portion of fish, for 100₹ it was worth and tasty. Seer fish fry (150₹) was like cooked without any masala. No salt, no spices. They gives bigger piece for 200₹. I dont recommend this item. May be it was like that when I visited. I see vanjaram is very popular as people are ordering that most compared to other fish fries. Cost wise i think it is cheap compared to popular restaurants in south chennai.
Even though they provide token for meals, service is kind of chaotic, we have to stand near counter waiting for them to serve in plates. No particular order followed. Seer fish fry was in different counter. There also they follow no particular order. Had to wait a long time, even after giving them token.
They serve food on the beach with tables and chairs laid in sands. Tarpaulin sheets were there to protect from sun. if I remember correct, seating capacity is about 20 people, probably less. Saw many came as family for lunch. Unfortunately during meals we had very very wind and heavy rain. Sheets were torn many places and every customers got drenched. I couldn't finish luch because it mixed with rain water from sheets. For billing they encourage cash only payments. Sometimes they allow UPI payment. They have phonepe QR code sometimes they show and sometimes they hides. Overal service and attitude was...
