Boheme Canggu — Restaurant in Bali

Not the one to complain, especially in Bali but we just did not have a good experience here… the food took an hour to come out; we had to ask 3 times how much longer it was gonna take and everytime the servers would tell us to wait a minute and just never got back to us… nobody apologized or seemed to care or felt bad that we were waiting that long. We eventually got impatient to the point we actually had to complain and that’s when finally when the food came out after an hour. the appetizer didn’t even come out with it. We asked if we could cancel it and they told us they had already made it and it would take another 7 minutes. There was 0 explanation of why the food took so long, I had to ask and they said there was some event upstairs? But no one told us the food would take that long or ask if it’s okay for us to wait so that was really annoying. And the food was just not good, I only ate half and couldn’t finish. Presentation is also bad. I just wanted normal boiled eggs but it came with the shell. There’s so many great cafes on this street, I’d recommend to go to any of them but this place, I’m sorry. The only thing that was good, was the danish… 🙈 and portion size here. I even got the vegan banana cake assuming it’s for sure be good, it says on the menu there’s icing but there was literally just a tiny bit of powdered sugar on it. It...

The place is alright. Food was fine. But be careful with the bill. It's written government tax 11% and service 10% are included in the price from the menu. But wnen the bill came it turned out they still charged us 21% extra on the whole bill because apperantly Happy Hour drinks don't include government tax and service charge (it wasn't written anywhere but whatever). They said their system operate this way and can't separate the bill. Like seriously? Told them to make two separate bills then because our food bill was same as Happy Hour drinks. Since stuff doesn't speak good English it took quite a while to explain the situation to them. So at the end the bill was splitted and the 21% extra charge was imposed only on drinks. But situation screwed the overall experience. Also, they have shisha so I asked about tabacco brand that they use (cause I only smoke several specific brands) and nobody was able to answer my question. I loved so much that place that I decided to go back there twice during my vacation. The place is gorgeous and actually, the wonderful atmosphere is possible because the staff is wonderful. I mean, basically the balinese native are really hearty, but I really felt that these waiters had something special : they were so friendly with me, especially Fritri that is one of the kindest person I met in Canggu. She works efficiently (fast and perfectly). The next day, she welcome me so warmly, like if I was one family member. Everyone was always smiling and doing their best to make me as comfortable as possible. Food and drinks were good ! They provide you a towel as well to enjoy the pool (free access, no minimum spend for the daybed / chairs at the poolside, which is really rare in Canggu). You should really try that place and if you go there, hug...
