‼️Do not recommend for dinner - keep reading‼️
We honestly do not understand the other reviews here. In fact, we came here because of the reviews but were utterly disappointed.
We reserved a table here for our Christmas Eve dinner. The service, attitude and professionalism of the staff were bad. Also the atmosphere was not very pleasant - too many tables and people crowded into a small room. For this price range we would also expect at least some decoration (e.g. candles) on the tables - there is absolutely nothing and feels very spartan. The food was quite good, however, be prepared for tiny portions. You will pay big money for a tiny fish filet and we recommend to order 2 side dishes per person. Elsewhere in Canggu you can definitely get more (in terms of amount and taste) for less money.
The following was the most disappointing: Apparently you can only reserve for 2 hours. Once the two hours are over you have to leave. We could have accepted this if everything were perfect…but… We were 4 persons and we ordered 3 starters, each 1 main dish and each 1 side dish, 1 bottle of wine and 2 big waters. The starters took 30 min to be served. And then they served only 1 main dish after another 15min. After another 30min 2 more main dishes were served. Again after 30 min the last main dish was served. The side dishes were served randomly. Meaning: 1. When we got all the food served we had only 15min before we had to leave, 2. For a restaurant of this price range we expect courses to be served together so everyone can enjoy the dinner at the same time. Here we all ate our dishes separately as they were not served all at once and we were confused what was going on and were wondering in between if they forgot about our orders because it took so ridiculously long. AND, all the main dishes were cold! When all the food was served the staff was so insolent to REMEMBER us that we only have 15min more before we need to leave. The staff was completely lost. Noone knew which table ordered what and you could see they are running around completely lost. It was apparent that this restaurant is completely disorganized.
Would be ok for any other restaurant, but not if you charge prices like this. Food was served completely randomly, in the end we were in a rush to eat up because the food needed ages to be served and then we were forced to leave by the staff. Very sad dinner experience for Christmas Eve.
Summarizing, this was our worst dinner experience we ever had. We would never come back again and we wished we would have had our Christmas Eve dinner somewhere else.

Read moreListen to me. The restaurant has a great atmosphere (except for the loud music at the bar, ruins the beachside thing) BUT THE FISH AND CHIPS ARE GOOD. Like ungodly good. I would do anything, and i do mean anything, for a 1% chance of getting this recipe. The fries are like marshmallow potatoes, but salty instead of sweet. The texture inside is as soft as nothing you have eaten before, and the outside is incredibly crispy. Every bite was heaven, back, heaven, back, heaven and also back just in case. The fish had about the same quality, with the outside having about the crispness of something an angel would cook up when asked for “pure joy”, and the inside being at tender as a second serving of it, but with the tenderness of brisket SQUARED, no, TO THE POWER OF GODDAMN 783 AND THEN CUBED AFTER THE POWERING. The juiciness was impossible to replicate, and still is. This hits like a damn truck with a metal brick in front. The lemon also somehow better (had to test it atleast.) but one problem is that it falls apart easily. The taste, however, would compensate even if it crumpled to dust and you had to snort it to eat it. Listen to me here, but the chef HAS to have a whole rat colony in his chef hat for this to happen, because WHY IS IT BETTER THAN ALMOST EVERYTHING I ATE. This is only bested by a 3.5 million IDR serving of steak and a steak from the best place for steak in the entire world.
Put more octopus into fried octopus please. Also, the IDR thing is DEFINITELY less, I just wrote this...
Read moreI asked a friend for a good seafood restaurant and he confirmed the Hippie Fish was the best one in Bali... As I know my friend loves his food I did follow his advise and booked for the same night, requesting a nice table. As I got off the scooter the manager was welcoming as I was walking to the Oscar night.. He led the way to the roof top where he had reserved the best table in the corner. The view was breath taking overlooking the whole bay. Olindo the manager introduced himself in such a warm and friendly way that it felt like we went to school together. However he was always professional and he explained the menu and all the delicious available options. I love spaghetti with clams and I wanted to try them...after a delicate tuna crudo entree the pasta came to the table presented like this perfect twist with a necklace of clams all around it. To my surprise I was amazed by the taste and the cooking time on the pasta, as it was Al dente as I would cook it at home. Service kept coming with all the attentions to details, glasses were always full, and staff smiling. Tiramisu and the special croissant were the closure to this amazing experience, as it was not just a dinner and the food was outstanding. I would like to thank Olindo for being the person he is. You can tell he feels what he does as he speaks his words through the...
