After we were reading the review, we were very enthousiast to visit this restaurant. It was fully booked and they told us, we could have a table for one hour and I refused it and the host checked it again and told us that we had a table for 1.5 hour and we were seated next to toilet while many tables were free until we paid our bills .
We ordered Melanzane alla Parmigiana, kids Margherita with extra salami topping , salad di Mare and Gnocchi Spicy seafood. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Melanzane alla Parmigiana is ok, the spicy taste is more like sambal spicy. The kids pizza was good, not to thick. Salad di Mare was very bad. I got very few cooked prawns instead of grilled one and few thin slice of calamaris , im not sure if the calamaris were grilled of cooked. The plate was big but full of salad and few pieces mango without any dressing on the side and three pieces of pizza bread. They put balsamico and olive oil on table but that is it. There is nothing good about the salad di Mari. I saw the pictures of the salad from someone else's review , it looked much better than salad I had. Same as Gnocchi spicy seafood, another disappointment, Gnocchi was not cooked equally, some good some over cooked. Few prawns, small pieces tuna , not sure if it was grilled or cooked with the sauce. The presentation of the food were not attractieve. We also ordered a glass of red wine but it was too cold and served in a cooled glass. So it was cooler than 10 degrees. I dont think they have Climate wine cabinet. I can't understand how come it was fully booked and got good review. Maybe it was our bad luck. It was really bad that I asked the bill before my husband finished his wine and we cheer up ourselves with good...
Read moreAtmosphere wise, Wednesday jazz here isn't disappointing, but if U go as a group, it's a bit difficult to chat with the music in full volume. Food wise, their pizza is better than pasta. Mine was ravioli - had better ones - and a supposedly duck sauce which was actually dry duck shreds/cubes rather than a sauce with duck cubes.
The most disappointing & actually health impacting was that they had all their ceiling fans blazing in full swing in a rather cold night (it's been raining A LOT here lately). I politely asked TWO different waiters at DIFFERENT timeS if they could lower the speed of JUST ONE directly above me - recuperating from cold here - and they said "yes" equally politely but never did! Even to 7 other people in my table, the fans were too much. I couldn't enjoy the evening & had to leave earlier, knowing that my cold would be back & worsened by the minute as I continued sitting there. I dunno why they wouldn't lower it down, it's not like we were in the mid of a hot-humid day with a blazing sun. And their place is fully open-air, so natural wind already properly flowed. But what's worse was they lied by saying quick "yes"-es that they never delivered! Now my cold is successcully back. Thanks but no...
Read moreThe best Italian restaurant in Bali!
I went to the Italin owned Arte on Tuesday night (September 7th) with my friends from football, and had a delicious calabria pizza.
What I love about Arte is the continuous improvement, which is noticeable with every visit.
I first visited around the time it opened at the beginning of 2021, and the difference between now and then is huge. It went from being a noob Italian restaurant, which served an authentic Italian menu, to a perfect Bali restaurant experience.
The prices are very competitive given the high quality of the food and the aesthetics of the venue itself.
Arte went from being ‘another Italian restaurant in Bali’ to the go to Italian restaurant in Bali for my friends and I!
Whether you choose to go dine at the restaurant, or get a hot pizza delivered from their own personal driver complete with heated pizza box, you won’t be disappointed with your experience of Arte.
This is as close to an Italian dining experience as you will...
