Ate the lamb shawarma rice bowl and the almond ganache choux. I have no idea what a shawarma should taste like but the meat had no taste. If you just want soft/tender meat this will fit your brief. There were two different sauces that was spread over the rice before they laid the other ingredients on it e.g. the meat, salad. So if you think the sauces were too much, you don't have a choice. I didn't understand why grapes were part of the salad for this dish. It didn't seem to go with anything else.
The desert had some sort of jam with the choux. The jam had no taste. Desert felt overpriced. They tried to dress it up to make it look more classy e.g. edible flowers but taste wise I didn't think it was worth the price.
Ramu kitchen is part of the hotel. To get in there, they built high walls to obscure the view of the hotel entrance such that you see it only when you turn around the last corner. But the view wasn't anything to wow about so the experience did build up a climax because it builds up a mystery but it was a very big anti climax moment when you didn't see anything spectacular. Felt like a copy cat architecture of some of the hotels in Seminyak.
The eating area was besides a gallery which showcased some artwork which looked very juvenile to me. But I am not an art critic/ expert. It felt like another attempt to make the hotel seem classy.
Come if you want to use their swimming pool ( when you order anything from the restaurant I was told by staff) or if you want a quiet place to do work (I was there between 430 to about 6), I did't get the typically rowdy tourists you get in the cafes along the main...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining here and was deeply impressed by both the food and the people.
The Aged Duck Ssam instantly reminded me of the famous roast duck from Siji Minfu in Beijing — rich in fat with perfectly crisp skin and incredibly tender breast meat inside. What made it special was the Korean-inspired way of eating: wrapping it with different greens, spicy pickled water spinach, stuffed onions, and their house-made sauce. A beautiful fusion that worked so well together!
The Lawar Banana Blossom caught my attention out of curiosity — I’d never tried banana blossom before. It turned out to be a very Balinese-style vegetable salad, unique and full of local character.
The Sticky Rice Bakar reminded me of Thai mango sticky rice, but with a twist — the creamy ice cream, crunchy nuts, and just-right sweetness made it unforgettable.
I also had the chance to chat with Kadi, who was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. He passionately introduced the menu and you could really feel how well he and his team understood every dish. The whole team was warm, attentive, and genuinely interested in your thoughts. In Chinese, we have a saying — “宾至如归” — which means feeling at home as a guest. That’s exactly how I felt.
As a hotel guest, I also got to try their breakfast — simple yet refined. I absolutely loved it!
Highly recommended — both for the food...
Read moreThe most amazing food I’ve ever tasted. The staff are so lovely and kind. The chef came up and made the effort to get to know who we were on our second night in a row of dining here. The waiter Juni was so friendly and made a lot of effort with serving us fast and also they really appreciated we came back second night in a row. Favourite dinners and desserts I’ve ever tasted. Worth visiting Bali just for the Ramu dining experience. Thank you again! 🩷 we also messages our second day visiting in the morning to see if we could have the duck as it was out of stock the night before and they actually were still out of stock and went and sourced more meat for us knowing we were leaving the next day! Best service around! We have tried the 14 day aged duck which was amazing - crispy skinned and the meat was perfect. The 24 hour tokusen wagyu short ribs had the softest meat and most delicious flavour sauce. The kiwami top sirloin steak was the most tender and delicious steak I’ve ever had. The sides were delicious too. Nothing to fault at all everything was cooked to perfection. You cannot miss the sticky rice dessert! This restaurant is better than any restaurant I’ve tried in my life. And the staff are just so welcoming. Will be missing this restaurant till our next visit to Bali! Thank you again guys....
