During my first Bali Holiday I ate at Warung Apple several times with my brother. We went to Bali with two people who have been visiting the island for years already and have therefore been coming to Warung Apple for years as well. So they know the owner and his family quite well. Yes, Warung Apple is a family run warung. The owner, who is popularly called 'Apple' is a very friendly man. Always up for a chat and a joke. His wife is also very friendly and nothing is too much to ask. In addition, their daughter also works in the business and she is always smiling and friendly as well.. If we wanted sate kambing (wich is not on their menu), Apple went and got it for us. If I ever wanted to eat Nasi Kuning, his wife made it for us. I also really like their springrolls and Nasi Campur. The Nasi Campur is highly recommended (and don't forget to add sambal matah!). The other dishes are also tasty and freshly prepared. I have had the pleasure of eating here several times and always with great pleasure and can really classify this food as...
Read moreWe went to the 'old' and supposedly original restaurant. The waiting staff was very uninspiring and the food variable at best. The whole party had spring rolls for starters - which was good. The main course ordered were three seafood dishes and one chicken dish, the only one worth having was the chicken dish. The seafood dishes was all grossly over cooked (marlin and shrimps). One ordered chips with her dish and even the chips were a let down, greasy and inedible. A man (Manager?) came and asked how the food was and we said the above, he looked at the food acknowledged the problem and said he was sorry, nothing else happened. No replacement of dishes (despite the party being super hungry we didn't finish our dishes because of lack of quality) or discount... I would not recommend this place and hope it is not representative of the level of quality in Lovina (rated number 1 on TripAdvisor...
Read moreI love this restaurant. I’ve been here three times now. It’s a gem. I’m now waiting for my third meal. First time I had Marlon, second time I had Satay tuna and tonight I await the seafood platter and spring rolls. Everything is superb. They even have wine but tonight I’m simply having tea as last night I forgot my purse and they were kind enough to hold it for me, while I marched back to get it because I got lost (too much wine lol), so the kind owner scootered me to my villa. They also give beautiful Balinese chips while you are waiting. And don’t forget to try the fried bananas with chocolate sauce. Absolutely yum. Live music is a sweet...
