Warung Jepun (Bar and Resto) — Restaurant in Bali

I came here during lunch for coconut icecream which was very delicious. They told us there will be acoustic live music during evening. So we decided to come for dinner.

We regretted so much.. we ordered our food around 19. My dish (beef rendang) came around 20:10 and my boyfriends burger came at 20:42. I did not eat my dish because when they brought the beef rendang they said burger will be out in 3 minutes we had to keep askinng where it is. Every 5 minuted they said the food is about to come out of kitchen and nope…

The table next to us even had it worse. They were dining with 7 people. Each dish came in with intervals of 20 mins. When they were paying the check, someone was still waiting for their dish to arrive.

It was really unbelievable. The beef rendang was very small portion, it was cold because we waited 30mins. It tasted ok but we lost our joy tohave a nice dinner. Burger was ridiculous. Pink bread and the smallest beef patty you will see in your life along with 5 fries. My BF did not eat it as it was super dry and it was just bread, he was not feeling it anymore. I did not want to pay for the burger (other dishes and drinks we wanted to pay) after waiting more than 1.5 hours in total and communicated this to the restaurant. A woman was very nice about it and she was the only person actually apologized that the burger was missing for that long and we did not get to eat together with my boyfriend. We paid what we ate.

Also there was no live music eventhough it was marketed that way.

Nice staffs. Horrible foods. I will never be able to comprehend the fact that anyone can possibly fail at fried bananas. The bananas are not even fried, basically completely uncooked, even cold. The only thing fried is the overly thick wheat batter mix coating the banana that's way too deep fried and way too thick to even make this dish even edible in any matter. Some odd hard crispy deep fried cracker texture with cold banana inside is not what fried banana is supposed to be. Even if that's their way, make it appetizing at least. It's horrible instead. Moreover. This is a smokers heaven. Everyone smokes here. There's no indoor or outdoor. The whole venue is just smoking inside out. So don't bring your kids here. Do not recommend. Lastly. Live music is as mediocre as it gets, boring and lack energy. The guy is however too in love with himself completely. He really loves performing and playing with his friends who also work there. A song I requested was denied to me again and again that until I left, he continued to show zero interest in playing it. That is fine. perhaps my impression of Amed about their service oriented demeanor being so strong that, first night at Lovina didn't have me impressed much as a result. Lovina is not really a total tourist town yet, but already carry some of that cynicism already... If it'll be a party town later, changgu will be the energy it may be moving towards...

Truly a hidden gem! We decided to take a walk after dinner to explore Lovina a little. We came across this cute bar/restaurant because of the sign out front that said Coconut Ice Cream. We came inside and were instantly greeted by the owner who explained their specials currently. Honestly only came in for dessert and a cocktail (or two), but had we not already eaten, we definitely would have eaten here. The food looks and smells incredible! The drinks were absolutely delicious. I’m pretty particular when it comes to Cosmopolitans, and it was a special of theirs tonight. They made it better than some bars in NYC can. I prefer a “fudgier”brownie, but overall the brownie was delicious. The homemade coconut ice cream was amazing! There was live music being played by her daughter and it was lovely.

Most of all, the reason I would come back is because of the owner, Indra. She was so incredibly kind, had the biggest smile, and made us feel like we were family.
