Warung De'Lekong — Restaurant in Bali

We live near this warung and for some reason we never tried it. Our guests keep recommending this local warung for its quality, authenticity and kindness. So at the occasion of our friend's birthday, we decided to go there and have a beautiful celebration dinner. We were about 15 people, we called them in advance. They kept 3 table for us and we have had a fantastic evening all together. The staff is absolutely lovely, very caring and sweet. It really feels like a family business where everyone is fully dedicated and devoted in making this place successful and rhat feels very nice. Their food is divine: simple but refined and well presented. It really makes a difference. Even with their huge success (433 reviews, mostly 5 stars) they don't take things for granted and they keep providing us with the best food and best service and to keep all this within a very reasonable price range. We were staying locally and saw from recent reviews that this place was quiet, friendly and had good food - so tried it out.

It was amazing.

The people there are so incredibly lovely and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and impeccably presented. It was great value - less than half the price of a mediocre burger at a nearby well-reviewed place, and twice as good.

We enjoyed what we had so much we came back to do a cooking class with them the next day to learn how they make it! This was also great. The family had prepared all the ingredients before-hand beautifully and we cooked some dishes together that we chose from their menu from scratch. An unforgettable experience.

I imagine this place would be reservation-only if it was on the main drag, but people aren’t sure whether to walk down the rural street to get to it. It is so worth it, and so much better than every other well-reviewed place we have eaten at.

The family started this place at their home after a hard time during the pandemic, having previously worked at hotels - and I wish them every success in making it work! They really deserve it!...

This place is a catastrophy. I asked twice to make sure I was served ketchup with my fries and the waitress said they’re “sure no problem”. When she brought the order, I saw that there was something wrong with the sauce she served, so I asked again if it was ketchup and she answered “yes”. However, this was a lie because it was thick soy sauce. It is unacceptable to lie to customers. What if I was allergic to soy? Additionally, my husband ordered ice cream and the waitress obviously forgot to bring it even though she wrote down the order in her notebook and I had to remind her about it. Additionally, we were the only customers in the restaurant when we placed the order, so it is scandalous that people who behave so unprofessional run a restaurant. Food portions in the restaurant are very small. My husband and I ordered fruit on a plate and there were literally a few tiny pieces, like a portion for a baby. Dadar gulung also tragic.
